LOS ANGELES, CA (California Network) - Mt. Sinabung erupted this week with an ash cloud menacing villagers who live near the volcano's slopes.

A villager captured a video of the ash cloud, which has since gone viral and is being shared here.

Volcanos are common across Indonesia, which is a nation made from a chain of islands that sit on top of two dividing continental plates. Tectonic forces are constantly causing earthquakes, tsunamis and volcanic eruptions across the region.

The volcanic soil and tropical rainfall have also made Indonesia rich with agriculture, producing some of the world's best coffees, spices, and other agricultural products that feed hundreds of millions of people around the globe.
