LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - One of the extra legs, which extend from his lower back, failed to grow as Kumar did and the other is permanently bent at the knee.

Neither of the duplicate extremities can be controlled but he does feel sensations when they are touched.

Kokila Devi, Kumar's mother, told Mirror: "During childbirth he got stuck and didn't come out without pain. And when he came out, all his limbs were the same size. When my father-in-law saw Arun he took his bullock cart and took me to Furrukhabad."

Doctors at Furrukhabad believed the operation was too dangerous to attempt and sent the distraught family home, where Kumar and his parents with no choice but to make the best of his condition, which has left him with poor posture and affects his ability to move and walk.

They still spend five years attempting to find help to remove the extra limbs but Kumar's father, Ram Singh, explained: "We went to Fatehgarh, then Delhi, also Jalandhar. The doctors said an operation couldn't be performed.

"Then we got disheartened and came back to our village and everyone here said, it's okay just live like this."

Fifteen years later, a desperate Kumar sent a plea for help out into the void of the internet, where he hoped a doctor would respond.

When a team of specialists at Fortis Hospital in Delhi responded to the request, Kumar was ecstatic.

The team has already prepared a series of tests to discover how the legs are attached and whether treatment is possible.

"If I get an operation and doctors take off my two extra legs, then I can also live a normal life," Kumar stated.

"I may be able to move and walk properly like others. When I go back to [the] hospital, I will meet doctors. If they are willing to do an operation, then I'm ready."

Orthopedic surgeon Dr Hermant Sharma has already examined Kumar and discovered the limbs are not the only duplicates in his body.

Kumar also has a second pelvis.

An MRI and CT scans, x-rays and echocardiograms are scheduled to determine how the legs are connected, how they are affecting his body and whether there are other extra bones or organs.

"Since he has four legs we will be keen to know where is the blood supply coming from, and where is it going into his legs, and also we need to find out has he got extra kidneys, extra urethras, extra bladder," Dr. Sharma stated.

Kumar's amazing tale will be shared in TV series "Body Bizarre," which will air Thursday night at 10pm on TLC.
