LOS ANGELES, CA (California Network) - The Cuban paper, Havana Tribune, has published a scathing article criticizing Obama, and referring to him as a "dumb negro" in Cuban slang. The author, who is black, referred to Obama as a negro, although Obama is half-white.

Race factors heavily in the article as the author accuses the half-white Obama of presiding over a racist country, saying he permits white police officers to murder blacks on American streets. The article also calls on Obama to end the "genocidal" Cuban embargo and to return Guantanamo Bay to Cuba.

Cuban Americans have criticized the article for its overtly racist speech and disrespect of Obama.

Despite the supposed success of the communist revolution in Cuba, the state is hardly a paragon of equality. Afro-Cubans make up 60 percent of the nation's population, but far fewer hold government office. Most of the Cuban government is white. Blacks still live in segregated neighborhoods in Cuba, and few work in the tourism industry, so they are kept out of sight.

It should be noted that this racism is distinct to the regime, and the people of Cuba don't necessarily share these views.

However, the regime is clearly responding to Obama's visit and it does not appear the visit was a success by any measure.
