Senior ISIS militant responsible for British massacre is believed dead.

Senior ISIS militant Noureddine Chouchane is believed to have died when the United States successfully launched an air strike in a Libyan training camp.

LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - Chouchane, who is responsible for organizing the Tunisia beach massacre, was believed to be stationed in Sabratha, Libya, at a training camp the United States targeted Friday morning.

The bombing is believed to have killed 40 militants, which Daily Mail reported to include Chouchane.

Anonymous intelligence officials claim Chouchane was "likely" to have been among those killed in the attack, which Hussein al-Thwadi, Sabratha's mayor, reported to result in 41 people dead and six wounded.

Chouchane has been a target since he has been reported to be responsible for both the Bardo Museum attack, which killed 22 people, and the Sousse beach resort terrorist attack, during which 38 people were killed.

The training camp is near the Tunisian border and American officials believe ISIS continues to expand in the region.

ISIS displayed signs of making Sabratha its North African headquarters, but senior military officials admitted their careful planning was to be thwarted by the same president who once promised to attack ISIS "anywhere it appeared."

The Obama administration admitted the United States had no plans to attack Libya until one of the two opposing governing parties came to a conclusion and only one became the official governing group.

Before U.S. president Barack Obama could veto the strike, it was launched at 3:30 a.m. (1:30 GMT).

America's military has joined forces with the British, French and Italian special forces to conduct aerial surveillance, gather intelligence and map ISIS-infested areas.

Since the attack, the Sabratha site has been photographed, with all images showing bodies and rubble among remaining trees.
