ALGIERS, ALGERIA (Catholic Online) - The Algerian army lost at least 11 soldiers in an ambush claimed by Al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb.
This attack has become the most deadliest attack in the country. While all Algerians believe they got out of the month of Ramadan with a remaining peace and tranquility, the terrorist group chose this holy day to carry out the abominable plan that led to the death of 11 soldiers.
The Algerian army decided immediately launch a counteroffensive before combing the whole region. The operation are still underway and no further information is available relating the number of terrorists killed.
The group is reported to be localized, according to sources close to the ministry of defense that issued a communique confirming the number of soldiers who lost their lives during the attack. Local observers explained that the coup was carefully prepared and the terrorist group was redundant.
The area attacked is known for its complex topography. It was practically impossible for terrorists to venture during the month of Ramadan, because of the system set up by the security services during that time.
