MUNTINLUPA, PHILIPPINES (Catholic Online) - "I wasn't ready for how competitive it really was," she said in a recent The Church Boys podcast, admitting that trying to make it big in Hollywood was a difficult task. "I had moved and uprooted my family... and so I wasn't sure how to make it work."
According to The Blaze, Weider convinced her parents to leave and moved to Hollywood when she was just 16. After turning 18, she left high school to seek the life she'd always wanted.
Without any back-up plan, she started booking lingerie modelling gigs, including posing for Maxim.
"It made me feel really embarrassed being on set wearing just a bra and underwear, and I thought that it would be some glamorous event. And I just felt really degraded," said Weider. There, she saw what Hollywood really is like backstage, off-camera. Photographers hit on her unprofessionally and celebrities partied hard with drugs at the scene.
Weider was woken by the truth - the most beautiful models she knew were being Photoshopped for magazines and everybody was exposing themselves to outdo everyone else in the race. However, she was blessed, Weider is now a married Christian woman and a mother who guides girls to the glamorous dreams she once had through Project Inspired.
