Family believes the seven-year-old's letter helped the sick man rest in peace.

Children never fail to bring hope in the purest form. A Mississippi man died peacefully a night after he received a heartfelt note from his young granddaughter.  The 7-year-old girl said, through the note, that God is waiting for him and He is ready.

Highlights

MUNTINLUPA, PHILIPPINES (Catholic Online) - That Thursday morning, Cadence Rench visited the Covington County Hospital to see her ailing grandfather, Lee Roy Watkins, who had weak health after suffering from a stroke last February.

"After my grandma died four years ago, he kind of just slowly let go. I believe a lot of it was him grieving over his wife of nearly 50 years," said his other granddaughter Brisen Dyess, during an interview with the WDAM.

She shared that the old man has always been close to Cadence, but spoiled all of his eight grandchildren. As they spent hours with him, little did they know those would to be their last moments with their beloved grandfather.
That day, Cadence handed him a note stating, "I love you! Get better soon! I will miss you. God is ready! He wants to see you!"

At 7 p.m. that night, Watkins peacefully passed away. Family members believe the touching letter from the young girl helped him through his agony, pain and troubles. They, too, felt at ease because of the pure message from a Cadence, reminding us something we often forget during times of pain.

"It brought a smile to my face, and tears to my eyes. A lot of people don't realize that God is waiting for all of us," said Dyess. She hopes that her niece's letter will also touch the hearts of others.
