Family to woman condemn immigration officials.

Kathryn Steinle was shot dead the night of July 2, 2015 by an illegal Mexican immigrant, on San Francisco's Pier 14. The alleged killer Francisco Sanchez, 45, has been deported a total five times for crossing the border. Steinle's grieving family condemns immigration officials for not being able to deport him prior to the shooting.

MUNTINLUPA, PHILIPPINES (Catholic Online) - The grieving family of Kathryn Steinle are condemning immigrant officials for not being able to turn over and deport Sanchez four months ago. Sanchez, an illegal Mexican immigrant, has been deported five times since he began crossing the border, but was recently kept in a sanctuary in accordance to San Francisco's city policy for undocumented immigrants.

Sanchez was arrested four months ago for possessing marijuana, but was let go because of the city policy. Steinle's family believe if Sanchez was deported after being jailed months prior to the attack, Kathryn would still be with them. They wish for nothing more than Sanchez to be gone.

"It would have been so much better if he were gone. Absolutely," Liz Sullivan, Steinle's mother shared.

The laments of Steinle's family come shortly after presidential hopeful, Donald Trump's claims that the U.S. border is "totally out of control" and suggestion that a solid wall be placed along the nations southern borders.

"Our Southern border is totally out of control. This is an absolutely disgraceful situation. We need border security," Trump called out, ranting on his Twitter page. "Our Southern border is unsecure [sic]. I am the only one that can fix it, nobody else has the guts to even talk about it."

Francisco Sanchez was considered a "priority," according to law enforcers and immigration officials. Sanchez was out on probation after being arrested with marijuana. Records also indicate that Sanchez already had seven felony convictions and had been deported to Mexico on five separate incidences, prior to the gun shooting.

Kathryn's family and brother are forced to come to grips, as they face a real life senseless killing incident in their family.

"She was the most wonderful, loving caring person and if anybody could take anything from this - if you love somebody, just tell them that you love them," said brother Brad Steinle.

Police arrested Sanchez an hour after the shooting incident. At the moment, Sanchez does not have a lawyer.
