'We have a world full of people who still don't know what saving grace in Jesus Christ is all about.'

How do YOU spread God's Word?

Highlights

LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - According to the International Day for the Unreached website: "The first Pentecost marked the beginning of the gospel going to the farthest corners of the earth. Imagine a revived movement of believers reaching the hardest corners of the earth for Christ until all have heard the only message that can give lasting hope.

"This coming Pentecost-May 15, 2016-The Alliance for the Unreached is calling on churches, radio stations, media and individual believers to be the voice of advocacy for people who have yet to hear the gospel."

Mission Online reported over two billion people around the world who have not had an opportunity to hear the Gospel. People have been forced to leave their ancestral homes, lives are lost in the attempt to reach the safety of Europe and many simply never come across Christians who are willing to share the glory of God.

Pastor and author Rick Warren explained the reasons behind the International Day for the Unreached (IDU), "With more than 2 billion people who haven't had a chance to meet Jesus, it's time ... to take a radical stand and say 'This has to end in our generation.'"

Marv Newell, the senior vice-president of Missio Nexus, one of the five organizations financially invested in launching IDU, spoke to Newell spoke to The Church Boys, where he explained: "We have a world full of people who still don't know what saving grace in Jesus Christ is all about. Of the 16,000 people groups in the world, there's still about 6,000 of those that are considered completely unreached."

The day of the event, IDU posted a prayer request on their Facebook page: "Pray for the Bible translation teams working in resistant and restricted parts of the world. These brace missionaries need God's daily protection and provision as they translate God's Word into the languages of people who are hostile to Christianity."

The following day, the group posted a thank you to "all who prayed, advocated, and gave yesterday to help reach the unreached with the saving gospel of Jesus Christ."

Although the day has come and gone, it is important to remember we must continue to try to reach out to those who don't know God's message every day.

Currently, no news of next year's event has been posted, but people can still donate to the cause.
