Prayer is a powerful shield, if we join together as one.

We have come to a time of great trial and tribulation in the Church. Christians around the world face more persecution today than they did in ancient Rome. On a daily basis, Christians are being martyred only because they refuse to renounce their faith. It is time for us to support fellow Christians in the line of fire.

LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - Pope Francis has condemned the serial attacks on Christians made by the Islamic State terror organization as well as those carried out by others. In solidarity with these victims and those who live under threat of attack, Pope Francis has called upon all Christians to join in prayer.

Prayer is a powerful shield of peace and books have been filled with examples of how the power of prayer has changed the course of history.

Pledge to pray NOW!

We live in momentous times, a time when the rise of radical Islam, radical secularism, and other extreme political and religious ideologies are once again threatening the peace and stability of the world. Those forces also threaten the whole of Christianity.

We have been warned that such times would be, and we have been given a powerful tool to use, and that is prayer.

We are calling upon all Christians around the world, to join Pope Francis in prayer to end violence around the world, to stop the persecution of Christians, and to usher in a new era of peace.

Join the world in prayer now!

To bring about this change, we have been asked to use the Rosary, one of the most powerful devotions in the Church. While each Christian is free to pray as they choose, we must remember that there are many of our brothers and sisters who are not free to pray at all.

It is especially for these people we will join in a global day of prayer on Sunday, March 1, 2015. Everyone is asked to pray at 2 PM, local time, however if you cannot pray at this time at least pray for this specific intention on March 1.

We ask that you take a pledge to join us in prayer on that day and you include the following special intention:

For the end of violence against Christians and against all people, that peace may come by the power of our most fervent prayer and God's intercession.

We can make a difference, but to do so, we must use the power of prayer. Click here to take the pledge to pray and remember to join millions around the world on Sunday, March 1 in prayer to end this terrible persecution.

PLEASE SHARE THIS NEWS WITH YOUR FRIENDS, ASK THEM TO JOIN THE WORLD DAY OF PRAYER ON SUNDAY, MARCH 1 AT 2 PM LOCAL TIME.
