With just 30 to 40 pounds of excess skin left for him to undergo surgery, Brian Flemming was successful in shedding out almost 400 pounds. He recently showed off his body in front of a camera, gaining enough attention to become a headline. Previously weighing 625 pounds, Flemming wanted to share with the public exactly how he had done it, despite his admission to the extreme difficulty.

He explained he was depressed, eating about 7,000 calories a day due to frequent fast foods and lack of exercise. One day he was playing his usual video games, but was randomly paired up with a woman from London.
Flemming said that after he told her about his struggles and depression, she gave him a response far from the sympathy he was expecting.

"I found out at the time that she has myotonic dystrophy. It's a form of muscular dystrophy. And she has to stay very fit and very healthy to keep her symptoms at bay. So she saw someone like me throwing my life away, and she just wouldn't have it," he said.
He came to realize he was throwing out his life while there were others struggling to add more years, fighting to live. The unhealthy elements of his diet was gradually taken out and Flemming began exercising by walking in place, slowly adding minutes as he continued.
Flemming's health improved and he is now doing things he learned to love, he even ran his first half-marathon recently. Flemming and the Godsend woman, as Beck had remarked, have met in person; he spent the last two consecutive Christmas holiday's with her in London, stating that they are now best friends.
