LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - Whether you're planning on moving or looking to improve your credit, it is important to try and save money whenever you can. Even something as little as skipping fast food for a couple of weeks adds up to large savings.

Cook Meals at Home

About 25 percent of those trying to save money do so by cooking for themselves, rather than making the easy trip to a fast food restaurant. Going grocery shopping and making your own meals is not only cheaper, it's healthier.

Go Where the Deals Are

22 percent are saving money by shopping according to sales. "Which stores have the best sales, where to get the most bang for your buck, which codes get free shipping and which stores have the best rewards programs," these are all important things to look at when saving money, according to Elite Daily.

Making Small Changes

More than 50 percent of people saving money are doing so by changing something small in their life, like bringing lunch to work or investing in reusable water bottles. Simply unplugging electronics when they're not being used lowers electricity costs. Buying the generic version of foods and medicines or switching to Netflix from cable companies saves big money, as well.

"These changes may seem like they won't make a difference, but it adds up quicker than you probably think," states Elite Daily.

Buy in Bulk

Buying items, like toilet paper, cleaning supplies or personal hygiene products, in bulk saves 61 percent of people a ton of money.

Stay Away from Credit Cards

Only 32 percent of people saving money are doing so by running from credit card companies. Credit cards seem so appealing to people who lack immediate funds and have no understanding of the dangers credit cards pose.
