Unlikely love story between two performers wins popular acclaim

Sweeping the Tony Awards with eight wins, including Best Musical, "Once," tells the unlikely love story of a Dublin street performer and a Czech piano player. The musical is an adaptation of the 1986 film of the same name.

Tony Award-winning Best actor Steve Kazee batted back tears as he thanked his cast members. Kazee said after his mother died early on in performances of 'Once,' his fellow performers 'carried me around and made me feel alive and I will never be able to fully repay them.'

"'Once' is a story about when people believe in each other, they can move on in life, and so many people have believed in this project," Tiffany said in his acceptance speech.

Best actor Steve Kazee batted back tears as he thanked his cast members. Kazee said after his mother died early on in performances, his fellow performers "carried me around and made me feel alive and I will never be able to fully repay them."
