'All you Need is Love', Former Beatle Paul McCartney weds for third time

We will you still need me, will you still feed me when I'm 64?" former Beatle Paul McCartney once sang. McCartney, now 69, confidently took his third bride, U.S. heiress Nancy Shevell in a relatively subdued wedding over the weekend. Shevell was a friend of McCartney's first wife Linda Eastman, who passed away from cancer in 1998.
"We will you still need me, will you still feed me when I'm 64?" former Beatle Paul McCartney once sang. McCartney, now 69, confidently took his third bride, U.S. heiress Nancy Shevell in a relatively subdued wedding over the weekend.
LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - McCartney and the 51-year-old Shevell stepped out of Old Marylebone Town Hall to a shower of confetti. It was the same venue where McCartney wed Eastman back in 1969. The bride and groom had visited the gym a few hours before the wedding and returned for an evening reception in their back garden.
"I feel absolutely wonderful," Sir Paul said as he hugged his new bride. "I feel terrific. I feel married."
Shevell wore an elegant long-sleeved dress in ivory silk, with a single bloom in her hair and a bouquet of pink and cream tea roses.
Mike McCartney, the groom's younger brother, fulfilled best man duties, just as he did when he married Linda.
The handful of guests for the ceremony was in stark contrast to McCartney's second marriage to Heather Mills, a lavish Ł1.5 million affair in Ireland in 2002. That union ended in a costly divorce in 2008. The registrar who conducted the ceremony, Alison Cathcart, said: "I'm overjoyed to have played a part in bringing these two wonderful people together in marriage."
The two dozen guests that attended the wedding included Ringo Starr with wife Barbara Bach, casually dressed in black jeans and trainers. George Harrison's widow, Olivia, was also present.
Conspicuously absent was John Lennon's widow, Yoko Ono. Lennon would have been 71 last week has he not been felled by an assassin's bullet in New York City in 1981.
Guests at the wedding reception included Ronnie Wood, of the Rolling Stones; Jools Holland, the television presenter and musician; and Sir Peter Blake, the artist.
Sir Paul's adult children Stella, James, Heather and Mary were also there.
There had to be some hardcore Beatles followers present, and amongst the crowd waiting outside the town hall were Luigi Tosi, 81, and Cesarea Santana, 70, two ardent fans who remembered Sir Paul's first wedding.
They say they are planning to marry in the same venue later this year. "It has been a beautiful day and everyone was so elegant," Santana says. Tosi added "Paul looked happy, didn't he? I think this one is forever."
