Beer enthusisists pay $80 for monk's ale - Denver

Trappist ale regarded as the best in the world.

How much would you pay for a good beer? We mean a really good beer? Denver residents lined up yesterday to spend $85 for a six pack of Westvleteren XII, widely regarded as the finest beer in the world.

How much would you pay for one of these?

How much would you pay for one of these?

DENVER, CO (Catholic Online) - Westvleteren XII is brewed at the abbey of Saint Sixtus in Belgium, which is in need of a new roof. The need for construction has spurred the abbey into exporting their beverage for the first time.

The beer comes with two glasses which are ideal for tasting.

Unfortunately for beer aficionados, it is unlikely the beer is still available. Denver area liquor-stores sold out within minutes and the same is likely true across the country.

Maybe next year, the monks will need a new carpet?
