Netflix partners with Disney - Los Angeles

New titles will be streaming in 2016.

Disney is coming to Netflix in a deal the streaming video provider hopes will bring new offerings and new customers to the service. The deal is also a blow to the Starz network which is now left with Sony pictures as its sole content provider.

The new partnership will speed distribution of new Disney titles in the future.

LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - Netflix customers will have to wait until 2016 before they can start watching Disney movies via the popular streaming service, however Netflix will be allowed to stream those programs in many cases right after their theater runs expire. That means Disney fans will have a tremendous incentive to subscribe.

Disney will also allow Netflix to start streaming some older titles immediately.

The announcement helped Netflix's stock rise significantly while the price of Starz stock fell by five percent.

Netflix is continually trying to expand their library of offerings on their streaming service, which many customers complain is still too limited. The deal with Disney will help to alleviate those complaints.
