Health Care? Why Is Obama Offering All Women Free Sterilization?

Sterilization mutilates part of a woman's body so it can no longer carry out its natural and healthy function

No previous president ever promoted a giveaway more peculiar than Barack Obama's mandate that all health care plans must offer free sterilizations to all women - but not all men - capable of breeding. This mandate is Obama's defining act as president - just as his adamant opposition to a bill that would have defined a born baby as a "person" was his defining act as an Illinois state senator.

Obama manifestly believes offering this particular mutilation free of charge to all women - but not men - is good. But why?

WASHINGTON,DC (CNS News) - No previous president ever promoted a giveaway more peculiar than Barack Obama's mandate that all health care plans must offer free sterilizations to all women - but not all men - capable of breeding.

This mandate is Obama's defining act as president - just as his adamant opposition to a bill that would have defined a born baby as a "person" was his defining act as an Illinois state senator.

Obama's Department of Health and Human Services proposed the mandate last August and finalized it in January. It takes effect Aug. 1.

The mandate says health care plans must provide without cost-sharing "all Food and Drug Administration approved contraceptive methods, sterilization procedures, and patient education and counseling for all women with reproductive capacity."

So, what does sterilization do to a woman? And why does Obama want all women "with reproductive capacity" to be offered one for free?

Specifically, sterilization mutilates part of a woman's body so it can no longer carry out its natural and healthy function.

By analogy, if a doctor severed a woman's optic nerve her eyes would no longer see. Here, a doctor severs a woman's fallopian tubes so her womb can no longer conceive a child.

Obama manifestly believes offering this particular mutilation free of charge to all women - but not men - is good. But why?

Human beings often sterilize dogs and cats, presumably because they do not believe canines and felines can develop disciplined reproductive habits and they see the proliferation of puppies and kittens as bad. But when human beings fix dogs and cats, they do not focus exclusively on one gender. Male dogs and cats are at least as likely as females to get their reproductive organs short-circuited.

Does the Obama administration look at women - but not men - as creatures akin to dog and cats? Does it believe women lack the hearts and minds and souls to fully control the destiny of their own families? Do they see the proliferation of human babies as bad?

After Obama signed Obamacare, his Department of Health and Human Services commissioned a federally funded committee at the Institute of Medicine (IOM) to recommend a "preventive services" regulation for women.

In its subsequent report, this committee explained its recommendation for what became the sterilization-contraception-abortifacient mandate in an eight-page section titled, "Preventing Unintended Pregnancy and Promoting Healthy Birth Spacing."

It takes an elitist - if not eugenic - perspective on the human race

Here, in part, is how the committee defined the problem needing to be solved: "Although one in 20 American women has an unintended pregnancy each year, unintended pregnancy is more likely among women who are aged 18 to 24 years and unmarried, who have a low income, who are not high school graduates, and who are members of a racial or ethnic minority."

Here, in part, is how it defined what puts women at risk. "The risk factors for unintended pregnancy are female gender and reproductive capacity." (Now, we know why they think women - not men - are the problem: Women become mothers, bearing children in their wombs.)

Here, in part, is how the committee defined the solution: "In a study of the cost-effectiveness of specific contraceptive methods, all contraceptive methods were found to be more cost-effective than no method, and the most effective methods were long-acting contraceptives that do not rely on user compliance. The most common contraceptive methods used in the United States are the oral contraceptive pill and female sterilization."

Then, it pointed to a complication: "Cost barriers to use of the most effective contraceptive methods are important because long-acting, reversible contraceptive methods and sterilization have high up-front costs."

Then the committee delivered its punch line: "The elimination of cost sharing for contraception therefore could greatly increase its use, including the use of the more effective long-acting methods, especially among poor and low-income women more at risk for unintended pregnancy."

Obama's HHS adopted without change the committee's recommendation to require health care plans to offer free contraception and sterilization to all women of "reproductive capacity." The committee defined "reproductive capacity" as being "from the time of menarche to menopause."

Why didn't the administration adjust the sterilization mandate to limit its reach only to women who had attained the age of, say, 21 or 35, or who had already borne two or three or even four children?

The Catholic Church has famously objected to this regulation pointing out that it forces Catholics and Catholic institutions to pay for sterilizations, artificial contraceptives and abortions - all of which the church teaches are intrinsically wrong.

Why didn't the administration adjust the regulation to exempt people who would be forced to act against their religion and their conscience if they obeyed it?

Yes, insisting that a born baby was not a person defined Barack Obama as a state senator, and this sterilization mandate will define Obama as a man, a president and a historical figure.

Study after study by the Media Research Center, the parent organization of CNSNews.com, clearly demonstrate a liberal bias in many news outlets – bias by commission and bias by omission – that results in a frequent double-standard in editorial decisions on what constitutes "news." In response to these shortcomings, MRC Chairman L. Brent Bozell III founded CNSNews.com in an effort to provide an alternative news source that would cover stories that are subject to the bias of omission and report on other news subject to bias by commission.

Blasphemous! This takes the cake! As if an 18-24 year old, usually has their head on straight about starting a family! Let alone, know What they want to do! Poor girls. To grow up in a society, an era, where this unfeeling, uncaring thinking is created, allowed, passed into law, and made available to her. Is there nothing we can do??? Obama has to have someone at his side, (who sure isn't God) as he keeps getting by with Everything! Sacred Heart Of Jesus, Immaculate Heart of Mary, We Humbly Take Our Pleas To Thee.

Why not offer it? Obamas view generally is to give anybody and everybody what they may want, especially if someone else has to pay for it.

EVERYONE NEEDS TO PUT MORE TIME INTO PRAYER TO STOP WHAT IS GOING ON IN WASHINGTON, D.C. LIFE IS A TEMPORARY JOURNEY. EVERY DECISION WE MAKE NOW WE WILL HAVE TO REMEMBER WHEN WE STAND BEFORE GOD AT THE END OF OUR JOURNEY HERE. HELL IS A VERY HORRIBLE PLACE AND HEAVEN IS BEAUTIFUL BEYOND WORDS. IT IS BETTER TO HELP MAKE THE WORLD A BETTER PLACE THAN TRY TO DESTROY LIFE WHICH IS SACRED.

When asked what sin is, then President-elect Barack Obama summed up moral relativism beautifully by saying, "Being out of alignment with my values." NOTE - he did NOT say, "Knowingly doing something wrong." A person who believes in objective moral truth approaches a moral dliemma and asks, "Is this action right or wrong?" A relativist, taught only to clarify his values, asks, "Do I really want to do this?" or "Will this action make ME feel good or bad?" THE GOLDEN RULE OF RELATIVIST ETHICS IS NOT DO THE RIGHT THING BUT DO AS YOU WILL. This is also the first commandment of the official Church of Satan founded by Anton LaVey: "Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the law." Hmmm, interesting! God bless.

As followers of Christ we all cringe when considering the actions of Herod after learning of the birth of our savior king. That slaughter pales by comparison to the deliberate and sustained actions of Barack Hussein Obama for the last five years of his service within the federal government. Not only does he believe children to be simply a commodity which lovers (not necessarily parents) may choose to possess or acquire or dispose of at will but he also believes women are ponds of the male population. Where in world do you think this sort of rationale comes from than? It is no mystery to anyone who has eyes to see and ears to hear and a clear Christian conscience. Obama has given you his view of women and how they should be treated. Here is my candid view for you.
You women who have given your life to your husbands and children, gone through childbirth, cooked and cleaned, dried the tears and bound our wounds all the while praying to God to guide and protect us have the natural gift of eternal love and survival for those around you. Men may be physically stronger but we tend to be short sighted looking only at what is affecting us at the moment and what to do about it. We are the first to mope about when things go wrong instead of accepting life as it comes to us knowing nothing good comes with out some pain or discomfort. It's in the nature God gave you to be the heart and soul of what we call humanity. Neither Man nor earth was complete until woman came upon the scene and made life fruitful and abundant. Don't let anyone try to deny this truth.
And the woman God made especially for Himself, our Mother Mary Queen of heaven, also naturally with eternal love wants to gather all of Gods children under her maternal care and lead them through Christ to the Father. Like you women she has taken it as her duty and commitment as His brides to care for the children of God. Bless you!!

This is what we get for choosing to be reliant on the government for our healthcare. Of course, it will be on the government's terms! I think we made a BIG mistake.

Obama&Co. are just hideous. Ironically, many young and low income women, especially black, voted for that monster. Oh, did they know what he wants to do to them? It will start out voluntarily then rapidly move to forced sterilization. Better for them to have been prolife then they never would have voted for him. If you want a future with children better vote differently this time. Quit sacrificing yourselves for a Hitler type of leader.

It's true to be concerned about Obama and these policies, but you guys are missing part of the picture. Equally disconcerting is the fact that insurance companies supported this whole hog. Why? Because delivering and caring for families is expensive...cuts into profits. Much more profitable to get on board with this. This sin unfortunately is woven into the entire system that values profits over life. And when you have a government politician who values the power money brings over what is in the best interest of the government...that is how you end up with screwed up laws like this and abortion on the books for 40 years.

At the end of the day it's all about the true god of this country and it's money. People thought the term "god" on the dollar bill referred to the almighty??? Too funny.

Yet, if you speak to non-Christians, especially non-Catholics or those from pagan religions, they will tell you that the Catholic Church is misogynistic! This tells a different story from what they'd have one believe.

Real propaganda is to continually say a lie over and over until the lie becomes accepted as truth. "A born baby is not a person,a born baby is not a person,a born baby is not a person, sterilisation of women is a woman's right ,sterilisation of women is a woman's right, sterilisation is a woman's right,a fetus is just a bunch of cells,a fetus is just a bunch of cells,a fetus is just a bunch of cells, God is a myth,God is a myth,God is a myth, all priests are sexually perverted, wealthy businessmen can't become a President, the government needs to tax us all more and more or we will all have less and less, government spending cannot be compromised,"on and on lie after lie and we all better believe it? Poppycock!
