Jewish support for Obama falls by 12 percent in New York City
Jewish voters polled feel that 'America is headed in the wrong direction'
According to a recently conducted poll, U.S. President Barack Obama's support among Jewish voters in New York state has dropped 22 percentage points in a single month. Furthermore, Jewish voters in New York overwhelmingly believe that America is "headed in the wrong direction" as opposed to "the right track," by a margin of 62 percent to 31 percent.
This survey was in line with a recent Gallup Poll, that showed that Republicans are making significant inroads in the Jewish community and that Jewish support for President Obama is at a 24-year low for a Democratic presidential candidate.
In a poll conducted in May, Obama had the support 62 percent of Jewish New Yorkers, while 32 percent opposed him. Statistically, Obama's lead among this group of voters was at a strong 30 percentage points for the month of May.
Respondents were asked the straight forward question: "If the election for President were held today, who would you vote for if the candidates were [Barack Obama, Mitt Romney, or Don't know]?"
A second question, "Overall, would you say that you and your family are better off now than you were four years ago, about the same as you were four years ago, or worse off today than you were four years ago?," the poll asked.
Only 13 percent of Jewish New Yorkers said that they are better off now, under Obama, while 41 percent said that they are doing worse, with 45 percent said they're doing the same.
A third question, "And how about the country as a whole, Would you say that the United States is in better position now than it was four years ago, about the same as it was four years ago, or worse off today than it was four years ago?"
Only 27 percent of Jewish New Yorkers said that the U.S. is in a better position, while 49 percent said America's position is worse, with 22 percent said the position of this country has not changed.
This survey was in line with a recent Gallup Poll, that showed that Republicans are making significant inroads in the Jewish community and that Jewish support for President Obama is at a 24-year low for a Democratic presidential candidate. the poll shows President Obama winning just 64 percent of the Jewish vote, while support for Romney is at 29 percent, the highest level of Jewish support for a Republican presidential candidate in 24 years.
The Gallup poll also illustrates a significant decrease in Jewish support for Obama between 2008 and 2012. According to Gallup, "Among Jews, Obama's current 64 percent to 29 percent advantage compares with a 74 percent to 23 percent advantage before the election in 2008. Thus, he is running 10 points lower among Jewish registered voters than in 2008, which is five points worse than his decline among all registered voters compared with 2008."

When more Jews learn that Romney and the Mormon Church have been trying to baptize and convert dead Jews to Mormonism, his numbers may drop . . .
Recalling the SS St. Louis incident during WWII, if Obama proves to be as supportive of the Jews as Roosevelt was, he'll finish off the 5,000,000 Hitler missed.
"Furthermore, Jewish voters in New York overwhelmingly believe that America is "headed in the wrong direction" as opposed to "the right track," by a margin of 62 percent to 31 percent."
Quite right. Jews believe that America under Obama is not sufficiently pro-Israel. THAT is their primary concern.
