It's Official and Historic - The Ordinariate of the Chair of Saint Peter erected in America

in the liturgy.

Rocco Palmo, on his blog "Whispers in the Loggia," gives further insight into Fr. Steenson's role as the Ordinary:

"Even as Steenson will be able to exercise the full authority of a bishop among his nationwide flock, the Anglicanorum provisions and Catholic theology preclude the elevation of a married cleric to the episcopacy. As Ordinary -- that is, head of an ecclesial organ "juridically equivalent to a diocese" -- he will have full membership in the US Conference of Catholic Bishops.

"In addition, any former Anglican bishops ordained to the Catholic priesthood may use the use "the insignia of the episcopal office" after seeking Rome's permission, and are entitled to sit in the episcopal conference with the status of a retired prelate. (To date, one other prior Episcopal hierarch, the now-former Bishop John Lipscomb of Southwest Florida, was also ordained a Catholic priest in 2009. The 61 year-old cleric serves in the diocese of St Petersburg.)"

Currently, over 100 former Anglican priests have applied and nearly 1,400 individuals from 22 communities have already indicated a desire to enter the Ordinariate.

On the Ordinariate website, there is also an opportunity to support the work. Fr. Steenson writes, "The Personal Ordinariate of the Chair of St. Peter has been launched in a spirit of apostolic poverty. As we reach out to gather those groups of Anglicans in the United States (and initially for Canada as well) who are seeking to come into full communion with the Catholic Church, we know this is truly a response of faith. We begin with nothing but our faith, and trust that God will provide the necessary resources to accomplish this holy work."

Why the sadness when one has chosen to enter the Church that Jesus Christ ordained?

It seems there is so much anger and resentment by many Anglicans, especially those within the many different continuing groups. These groups are so broken that they cannot unite into one community and appear to be competing for members from other groups.

The Ordinariate is a threat to many who it appears fear that it will be a success and they will lose some of their members who finally have decided that belonging to the Catholic Church is what Christ Himself has created.

It is time to let the anger go and start looking within your own communities and solve your own problems, rather than try to destroy what Christ has established. The anti Catholic remarks from those who consider themselves Catholic is very telling, the truth is out, that those who claim to be "Anglo catholic" are and always were Protestant.

I have never seen any unchristian remarks made by those entering the Ordinriate against their former church, which shows who are truely Christian in their behavior.

The Ordinariate is NOT "dead on arrival" as so many have prayed for.

    Hint: Catholic Online
It would be of so much help for those of us who are not used to the terms mentioned in these articles if someone would take the time to translate for us terms as :
    Pastoral Provisions?
    Who is an Ordinary?
    What is a Personal Ordinariate?

All of the above in reference and application to the Catholic Church.

Dear Dottie, don`t be sad it is high time you came back to the main church because that`s where you belong dear.
It`s the catholic church that Jesus Himself started and He gave St.Peters to be the leader hence the Pope.
Therefore, when i see your comments i get astonished.Time will come and it has come already when we will experience the only one and true church which is the Catholic church.
Am anticipating that more will continue entering this church.

Better late than never or another way of saying never too late, remembering that time is His & not of anybody else, welcoming to the way of Christ, the only way to GOD, lock, stock & barrel.
