Homosexual Episcopal Bishop to ‘Wed’ Partner

Bishop Robinson is at the forefront of the ongoing schism within the global Anglican Communion.

In a move obviously timed to coincide with the plans for the global Anglican Lambeth conference, Homosexual activist Bishop Gene Robinson went on National television to announce his plans to enter a Civil Union with his male partner.

LOS ANGELES (Catholic Online) - In an interview with Matt Lauer of NBC, practicing Homosexual controversialist Bishop Gene Robinson announced plans to enter into a ‘Civil Union’ with his Male Paramour.

He told the interviewer it was “what God is telling me to do”

Just as the splintering Anglican Communion was preparing for its International Lambeth Conference. Just as the controversy surrounding the actions of some orthodox Anglicans planning an alternative Conference seemed to be out of the limelight. Right at this time,a controversialist Bishop named Gene Robinson once again enters the limelight to make himself the center of attention.

Using National Network television in the United States as his platform, he announced his plans. They confirmed a promise he had made in November of 2007 at Nova Southeastern University’s Shephard Law Center.

There, in an appearance written about by Catholic Online, he proudly told the audience of his upcoming planned ‘marriage’ to his paramour.

With a broad smile he announced with pride, "I always wanted to be a June bride."

This Bishop is on the forefront of the ongoing schism within the global Anglican Communion.

He is also a leader in a cultural revolution being led by activist, practicing homosexuals who not only want to live their lifestyle but force the State and the Church to give them equal status to marriage.

Painting himself as some new kind of “martyr”, the Bishop told Matt Lauer that he will enter into a “Civil Union” with his male partner of twenty years, Mark Andrew. He presented those within Christianity who oppose his active homosexual relationship as somehow unenlightened.

Finally, as is his habit, he attempted to argue against the clear teaching of the Scriptures and unbroken teaching of the Christian tradition that reserve sexual activity to the loving, lifelong marriage bond between a married man and woman.

Presenting himself as some kind of new liberator, the controversialist Bishop, whose consecration to Episcopal office in 2003 expedited the continuing splintering of the Anglican Communion worldwide, seemed to take great delight in his celebrity status during the interview.

Robinson has been asked to not attend the conference because of the controversy surrounding his lifestyle and his vocal dissent from Christian teaching and tradition.

However, the Bishop announced in this same interview that he will attend anyway, saying with defiance: “I think the Archbishop of Canterbury has gotten this wrong by not inviting everyone. I’m going to go and offer myself and talk with anyone who wants to talk to someone who is unashamedly gay and unashamedly Christian.”

How will this new controversy be handled by the leadership of the global Anglican communion?

Only time will tell. So far, nothing has seemed to stop the splintering or slow the erosion of orthodoxy.

Thanks for your clear stand on the issue. I think the issue of homosexuality is becoming of complicated everyday. But I think as you quoted corrected in the bible; it is clearly spelled out. Everyone of us with his or her weakness but then we need to work harder to overcome inorder to reach the promise. Satan is really using this issue of homosexuality to work down Christians in their good relationship with God. Then we Christian should arise and with constant prayers to fight back so as to prevent devil on what he is planning to sow bad seed in our life. Lets stand erect knowing that our day of salvation is a hand.

The Bible condemns homosexuality. No amount of verbal trickery can make scriptures like Leviticus 18:22 and Romans 1:26, 27 disappear. A Jesuit priest said of homosexual relationships: “They are the only possible solution for a lot of people to lead a happy and meaningful life.” Following the same line of thinking, one Episcopal bishop called homosexuality “something over which [homosexuals] have no control.” But the Bible says of some former homosexuals in the first century: “That is what some of you were. But you have been washed clean.”—1 Corinthians 6:9-11.

Some excuse their contradicting of Bible standards on the basis of love. One priest said: “Love, especially love of the outsider and the outcast, is the essential test of our spiritual life.” He then concluded, “Homosexuality would never have been an issue for Christ. The issue for him would have been: Do these people live out their lives, whatever they are, in a truly loving way?”

But the Bible does not confuse love with sentimentality. Godly love is balanced by justice and includes a hatred for badness. The Bible forcefully admonishes, “O you lovers of God, hate what is bad.” (Psalm 97:10) True love also includes discipline, for “whom God loves he disciplines.” (Hebrews 12:6) Ministers are obligated “both to exhort by the teaching that is healthful and to reprove those who contradict.” (Titus 1:9)

Generally, today’s clergy are like permissive parents: afraid to spank their children because ‘that would not be loving.’ For decades the clergy have thus undermined Bible standards. The result? “Because sentence against a bad work has not been executed speedily, that is why the heart of the sons of men has become fully set in them to do bad.” (Ecclesiastes 8:11) For example, even though the official stand of the Catholic Church is against homosexual relations, one poll showed that 55 percent of all U.S. Catholics believed that someone who engages in homosexual relations can still be a good Catholic.

The prophet Zephaniah said: “The unrighteous one was knowing no shame” because the “priests themselves profaned what was holy; they did violence to the law.”—Zephaniah 3:1-5.

Homosexuals who want to serve God must do so on his terms— terms that are clearly set out in the Bible. Today, just as in the first century, there are homosexuals who have been helped to ‘deaden their body members as respects fornication, uncleanness, and sexual appetite.’ (Colossians 3:5) This may not be easy for some, but they have learned to deaden their immoral desires just as many HETEROsexuals have had to deaden their wrong desires for the opposite sex.

Clergymen who dilute Bible standards and condone sin are doing homosexuals no favors. They may ‘tickle ears,’ but they are not living up to their obligation to “preach the word.” This is their duty to homo- sexuals — and to ALL people. —2 Timothy 4:1-5.

Can Christ's Second Coming be far off? This kind of thing is sickening and disgusting. I left ECUSA for this reason and am Orthodox Anglican, but not far from converting to RC.
