Muslim Brotherhood endangering Egyptian women
President's political party paying thugs to rape and beat men in demonstrations
The Muslim Brotherhood, in addition to being Egypt's ruling party, is now alloeged to be paying gangs of thugs to sexually assault women protesting in Cairo's Tahrir Square. Demonstrations have rocked this African nation after Morsi granted himself sweeping powers, totally defeating the purpose of the Arab spring that unseated former Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak.
Large marches from around Cairo flowed into the square, chanting 'Constitution: Void!' and 'The people want to bring down the regime.'
In response, the Muslim Brotherhood coordinated a demonstration in support of President Mohamed Morsi, who is rushing through a constitution to try to defuse opposition fury over his newly expanded powers.
Around 200,000 people had earlier gathered in Tahrir Square, the site of last year's revolution which toppled Mubarak to protest against a new draft constitution.
Large marches from around Cairo flowed into the square, chanting "Constitution: Void!" and "The people want to bring down the regime."
A sinister threat, used previously has freshly emerged against Egyptian women. Magda Adly, the director of the Nadeem Center for Human Rights, said that under Mubarak, the Government paid thugs to beat male protestors and sexually assault women.
"This is still happening now," she told reporters. "I believe thugs are being paid money to do this ... the Muslim Brotherhood have the same political approaches as Mubarak," she said.
One protestor says that she had been in Tahrir Square filming the demonstrations for a few hours when the crowd suddenly turned. Before she knew what was happening, about 50 men had surrounded her and began grabbing her breasts. She said they ripped off her clothes, starting with her headscarf and for nearly an hour, indecently assaulted her with their hands.
A few men tried to help her, but they were beaten away by the mob. Some residents who had seen the attack from their windows came to her aid and an elderly couple pulled her into their home. She suffered internal injuries and was unable to walk for a week.
Lara Logan with the CBS Network endured a similar half-hour sexual assault in Tahrir Square by a group of men in February of last year. She said after the ordeal that she had been "raped with their hands."
While the exact frequency of these attacks is unknown, activists have reported nearly 20 attacks in the last ten days and say there has been a dramatic increase in mob sex attacks on protestors in the last year.

Tyree obviously isn't a Muslim woman living in Egypt and being endangered by the Islamicist thugs President Morsi calls his supporters and members of the Muslim Brotherhood on a daily basis. If you are Tyree, I feel sorry for what is coming to you and to Egyptian women generally. This is not about Islam. Many Egyptian Muslims are really worried right now about the interpretation of Shari'a according to a bunch of ill-educated and overzealous men who clearly needed to be reintegrated into society through a transitional phase. The country is now headed to an imaginary nostalgic fantasy world run by ill-fitted Muslim men who have been political prisoners and are not mentally, physically, or spiritually capable of running a complex country such as Egypt.
I think this site should stop posting things only showing the bad things about Muslims. Why not post good thing? Why post anything at all to try to slander us? The catholic church has done some bad things too and to not post these things is quite fallacious, ignorant, selfish, and spreading nothing but corruption and ill thought which is why this world is so messed up. How would you slander and expect to be good and not be seen as a bully? Smh.
Muslim brotherhood playing the typucal islamist double game, crrooked double-faced taqyya islamic institution of beatings and denying any wrongdoing at the same time.Hitler used this before becoming the fuher. same old story..
At last, a western publication writing the hard truth that islamists, backed by western powers for unknown reasons, have hijacked the revolution, and are turning Egypt into an islamic theocracy. The ruling islamic party rallies support by paying mostly uneducated people from the subburbs and offering them free transport to wherever the cameras are stationed, to give the impression that anyone agrees with these criminals running the country.
