Pope Francis stands tall above Argentine left and their false allegations

Pope Francis is exceedingly holy and a servant of the poor.

Charges that Pope Francis did little to help kidnapped priests during Argentina's "Dirty War" continue to resurface although he has long been exonerated. Still. Extreme leftists who wish to discredit him and the Church, continue to make accusations to anyone who will listen.

Pope Francis is dogged by old allegations from which he has already been exonerated.

Pope Francis is dogged by old allegations from which he has already been exonerated.

LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - Catholic Online has been following this story for several days now, seeking to find the truth behind it. Our present conclusion is that the allegations against Francis have no merit.

Francis has clashed with secular and left-wing activists because he is an exceptionally holy man whose singular existence and life's work, stands in stark contrast to what the Argentine left represents. Francis is a man of the people, but also a man of God. It will not do for such a man to be popular for his mere rule as Pope could destroy decades of careful social undermining done by the left in Argentina.

Francis is widely known as a humble and devout man, and as a great servant of the people. His work amongst the poor and the sick is legendary. However, equally legendary has been his defense of the Faith and strong condemnation of immorality including homosexual equivalency and the careless distribution of contraceptives across the country.

His moral stance on these issues has drawn condemnation from those on the political left in Argentina, as well as criticism from that country's president, Christina Fernandez de Kirchner.

Claims against Francis originated in a book written by Horacio Verbitsky, which say that as head the of the Jesuit order, Bergogilo, now Pope Francis, did nothing to help save two fellow Jesuit priests who had been kidnapped by the navy.

The two priests were safely released five months later.

Bergoglio was questioned by an Argentine court over the matter and was not charged with any wrongdoing subsequent to the court's scrutiny. He has always denied any wrongdoing.

Conversely, during his tenure as the head of the order, Bergoglio did a number of things to protect and save many people during Argentina's military dictatorship.

In fact, in the case of the kidnapped priests, Bergoglio was documented asking the priests to leave the military and warning them in the months ahead of their kidnapping and torture. The priests did not heed Bergoglio's warnings.

Cleared of wrongdoing by sensible and authoritative minds, Pope Francis has continued his work as a Pope of the people, at one point wandering into a crowd of well-wishers to the chagrin of his security detail.

As a man of great humility and simplicity, Pope Francis has electrified the Church and may be just the renaissance that many were hoping for. On Sunday, he delivered a homily focused on forgiveness saying "Never forget this: The Lord never tires of forgiving us."

A few simple statements, and simple deeds are all it takes for this very holy and exceptional man, to turn thousands into unwavering, enthusiastic supporters. The Cardinals did well to listen to God, who chose Francis - indeed it is impossible think anyone could be better.

Today, Argentine President, de Kirchner will meet with Francis to congratulate him on his election.
