Obama has set the Catholic Church on fire

Supporters galvanized against this most recent assault on faith, freedom.

President Obama has set the Catholic Church on fire and now Catholics are firing back. Catholics Called to Witness, a Florida-based non-profit has brought the issue to a point with their viral video, 'Test of Fire'.

Obama can try, but he cannot destroy God's church or the spirit of the faithful.

Obama can try, but he cannot destroy God's church or the spirit of the faithful.

LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - President Obama declared war on Catholics long before his blatantly unconstitutional Health and Human Services mandate was issued by Kathleen Sebelius, a woman who shockingly professes to be Catholic herself.

President Obama came to office as the most pro-choice, anti-life president in history. And right from the start, his agents went to work breaking down the one institution that would stand fast and fight to the end, his vision of a brave new world for America - a vision that respects neither life nor freedom.

Not all Catholic institutions have withstood the assault. Late last year, Catholic Healthcare West, one of the largest Catholic hospitals systems in the nation, secularized. Now known as "Dignity Health" the healthcare consortium claims that it will adhere to the values of the Church as it grows and develops, but realistically, there is nothing left that can prevent the spreading moral decay from eroding those standards in the future.

Dignity Health is not a ministry of the Catholic church and is no longer compelled to answer its teaching.

To be fair, Dignity Health was pushed there (in part) by the onerous changes coming as part of "Obamacare."

Meanwhile, Catholic Charities in Illinois lost a fight for the soul of their orphanage system when a liberal court ruled they must facilitate adoptions for homosexual couples.

And more recently, the full frontal assault on the Church was initiated with the cruel mandate that the Church must pay for insurance plans that violate the very conscience of the faithful. The unconstitutional mandate would make entire churches participants in moral turpitude by the mere act of writing a monthly check.

Faced with these attacks, the forced erosion of morality, and the trampling of individual rights, Catholics have rallied. Led by courageous bishops, such as Archbishop Dolan of New York, and inspired by the near-success of Rick Santorum, a conservative candidate for president, Catholics are preparing to vote their conscience in November.

Capturing this spirit, Test of Fire, a video produced by Catholics Called to Witness, has gone viral. Capturing hundreds of thousand views on YouTube and across social networks, the video is a stirring call to action for all Christians.

The video calls upon individuals to vote their conscience saying, "Your vote will affect the future and be recorded in eternity. Will you vote the values that will stand the test of fire?"

Opening with a powerful, almost epic musical score, the three-minute video features powerful imagery including a blacksmith forging words from iron that resonate with voters, such as "Jobs," and "Marriage" and "Freedom." Interspersed with the work of the forge, is a woman marking and casting a ballot.

While the video is a work of art, it captures perfectly the essence of the struggle that confronts Catholics in the current election cycle. Catholics are fighting for their religious freedom, identity, and the conscience of a nation.

Regardless of your personal political persuasion, it is impossible for a person of conscience to watch this video and not feel called to action.

Watch the video above and send this article to all your family, friends and neighbors.

Ultimately, Catholics will cast the ballots that will choose the next president. The coming election will be close enough that Obama cannot win without the support of a Catholic fifth column. If Catholics pause and recognize the overt assault that is being made against themselves and their faith, they can change history for the better.

Their test is scheduled for November 6th.

Catholics, like any other group of people, ought to evaluate politicians on the basis of the whole package. Having spent many years inside of a Catholic church, I find it difficult to agree with many of the folks within the church, and perhaps many of the folks who enjoy this website, that the right wing Republicans today, who "play" people of good-will into voting for them based on a single issue, are going to do good things for most of the people in our country, Catholic citizens included.

Before you vote, think about how the people that claim to express your values, will actually govern and in reality, for whom they are working. It's probably not for you.

Rob; I couldn't have said it better myself: "Deliver results or you're fired". Simple as that. And since there have really been none...more spending and more mess ups...well, "...you're fired" is easily and calmly said by your Vote. To me, That is Catholic Action. Glad you feel a bit lighter. I understand what you are saying about the book. They are Not fast reads. But so potent. I was also referring to Pope Benedict/Joseph Ratzinger books. One I think you could read, not over your head, and displays his genius, every statement backed up w/facts, is: JESUS Of Nazareth:
HOLY WEEK: From The Entrance Into Jerusalem To The Resurrection/Pub:Ignatius. I read about 2 other books at the same time. Simply because he has so much for one to digest. To contemplate. Plus he is a humble God Loving man. All of that comes through to me. Enjoy your new book. Blessings...

Judy, I have to honestly say, I do feel a little lighter. This strategy allows me to basically ignore all the rhetoric, make an assessment as we near and election and decide whether someone keeps their job or not. It's risky because I could be voting for folks who could make things worse, but it's a chance I'm willing to take because this party line thing is not working at all. These guys in DC don't get it and I'm opting out of the ideological, straight party ticket train. Deliver results or you are fired. We always point to how out of touch DC is, it couldn't be any worse than this.

Rob: Prayers were answered. You did come to a conclusion. And a very good one at that! Your words beginning with: "I will vote.....(to).....the time for excuses is over", was very good! You have always demonstrated in your writing a lot of thoughtful and thought felt feelings. Some of them are finally beginning to lighten your load, brother pilgrim. The conversations w/JoAnn and Vance have helped you too, as well as, news, Deacon Keith's articles, your everyday life, and Our Helper and Guide most of all. Cherish today. Blessings...

Rob, I would invite you and others to go to the 'Operation Rescue" website to get update news on the Abortion Front. GOP's, "The One Side", ARE realizing victories over Planned Parenthood and other Killing Machines around the country. Many are being shut down because too many women are dying or critically injured from botched abortions. The Marxist Media Complex is keeping this silent from the public. The Abortion Industry is being attacked by legal challenges and legislation requiring these Killing Machines to meet the same sanitary and professional standards that hospitals are mandated to meet. The State of Alabama is about to become 'Abortion Free".

Kay, your analogy of 'Pro-Choice' and 'Anti-Life' is curious. I understand where you are coming from when you say that you and others who share your point of view say that ALL life is sacred. Those who support the Death Penalty like me say that ALL Life is sacred and priceless therefore we stand by God in Genesis 9:6. It's all about "Justice". If we have no justice, then we have no civil society. God gave us the Ten Commandments so that we can have civil societies. In order for us to have a civil society, there must be consequences for violating the Ten Commandments or the laws of the land. Lawlessness is a license for Evil People to have the 'Run-of-the-Mill'. Moses and the Tribal Chiefs had a System of Justice. When individuals violated the laws, they received penalties some of which were the Death Penalty.

Hi all, Judy, I did read that book, in fact, I pre-ordered it. Guys, I know you are right about taking a stand politically, but what I am tired of is doing my part, you know voting pro-life etc, and then nothing becomes of it. The culture of death continues and it continues for one very simple reason, lack of accountability. We've been so trained to point the finger at the other side that we stopped looking at our own side? And our own side is taking us for a ride. Because both parties have been taught one thing by us. No matter what I do, all I have to do is just point the finger at the other guy because my team will never vote for him. They will never hold me accountable. The result is obvious. We have a sick status quo that never really gets any better. We have completely missed the memo where the pursuit of political power is nothing more than that, a pursuit of power. Neither side cares one bit about us peons. As I was listening to the news this morning I heard two interesting stories. The first was about the Buffet rule. The GOP representative was just down playing how little revenue it would bring in. They threw out the numbers and I was slightly shocked as those numbers would fund our entire state for 10 years! This was followed by a story on the student loan interest rates where the Dem Representative was decrying the GOP resistance to this, omitting the part where it was the Dem congress that passed the rate increase in the first place. The politics of it just disgusted me. Other than politics, couldn't both parties agree that maybe it makes no sense to raise student loan rates to levels that are so far above average interest rates today? Why does it have to be so "political?" Just no common sense anymore. I will vote. I will vote against incumbents. I will not accept the furtherance of abortion, but nor will I accept the status quo. As long as it remains, they get fired. As long as our economy is in the ditch and they refuse to really deal with our issues and just point fingers, they are fired. For me, the time for excuses is over. I'm sick of being taken for a ride with my vote. JoAnn, what evidence do you have that not voting is a vote for Obama? I don't have a responsibility to sell Romney to voters, that is his job.

Rob: Don't you think a lot of people pray for World Peace? I think praying for peace has been going on for a long time. More so, during times of war. However, now, in this world of me, myself and I, consumerism, technology, science that a lot of people do not know is God's science, increased atheism, etc., we practicing Catholics, now, more than ever, need, have, to take a political stand...we have to choose the one that is the lesser of two evils. That is the most and the best we can do. Did you read Archbishop Charles Chaput's book yet? My pilgrim brother, this book will help you. It is a help for Catholics and discusses Politics. I know I have mentioned it before. I will not mention it again. Prayers...

Rob: Not voting is a vote for Obama. I don't think I am saying the same thing about the parties that you are. I agreed that both parties have progressives BUT they all aren't progressives. The progressives are the Democratic Socialists and the RINO's. Those are the people we need to vote out. And by vetting each candidate that runs for office properly, we can tell who the progressives are and stop sending them to Washington. That's why we never see a change. But it all has to start with us educating ourselves and stop voting party because that's what we have always done. I never miss a debate, I research each of the candidates, I pull up their political ideologies, I listen closely to what they are saying and I vote for the person who is closest to my values and principles. My ear is well trained and I can spot a progressive in an instant. Some are big time progressives and some are progressive lights If the candidate is a moderate, fiscally responsible pro-life Democrat, and he/she doesn't rubber stamp everything for the party, and the Republican candidate is pro-abortion RINO, or even just a RINO, the Democrat will get my vote. But to not vote is not an option for me. "Not to stand, IS to stand, not to speak IS to speak." Good example is Orrin Hatch in Utah. He's a big time progressive who has been in Washington for too long, and he is not too happy right now because for once in a long time, he has to win (or lose, I hope) in the Primary. He needs to go and a more conservative candidate needs to replace him. We just can't lump everyone in a party as no good. Character matters. That's what we should look for. To clean house means that sometimes we are just going to have to hold our noses and vote for the one that is closest to our values. As you say, voting for the lesser of two evils is still voting for evil but not voting at all and letting the biggest evil win, is a WORSER EVIL. (Pardon my grammar) Voting is a priviledge and a very important patriotic duty. I don't want to stand before Jesus one day and try to explain to him why I let an abortionist take over this great country because I didn't like the other candidate either. God bless.
