We ask you, urgently: don't scroll past this
Dear readers, Catholic Online was de-platformed by Shopify for our pro-life beliefs. They shut down our Catholic Online, Catholic Online School, Prayer Candles, and Catholic Online Learning Resources essential faith tools serving over 1.4 million students and millions of families worldwide. Our founders, now in their 70's, just gave their entire life savings to protect this mission. But fewer than 2% of readers donate. If everyone gave just $5, the cost of a coffee, we could rebuild stronger and keep Catholic education free for all. Stand with us in faith. Thank you.Help Now >
Knowledge Leads to Devotion

As a Catholic my entire life, I thought I knew a lot about the saints. As I began to research the lives of the saints, I found that I knew very little. I started a new business with my sister and her husband called Original Saints. Original Saints are authentic patron saint figures. To be "authentic," we needed to be sure that we applied our "saint knowledge" to our product. So as my research progressed, my knowledge grew and I found my devotion increasing.
Which six saints should we launch with? My parish priest recommended St.Therese, the Little Flower, one of the most popular twentieth century saints. She was his favorite saint. He gave me a picture of her for our artist and reminded me that his mother was named Therese. I knew her name, I knew she was a saint and I knew about the roses. Why was she so special? As I researched her life, I learned of her "little way" to holiness. I soon began to pray to her and asked her to intercede for me. Soon I realized her powerfulness.
Many of my prayers were answered and often in far better ways than I had anticipated. My devotion to St. Therese and my faith continued to grow. While reading a St. Therese prayer card, I was struck by the simplicity of one sentence. "Help me to see the face of God in everyone I meet." I now apply that simple phrase to my daily life. I have become more tolerant and less judgmental. I do not "judge a book by its cover." It's a wonderful feeling. Thank you, St. Therese.
We launched our new business in August and St. Therese, the Little Flower, is one of our first six saints. Our artist sculpted a beautiful and simple face. Her clothing is "authentic" and we are proud to offer her to our customers. I have displayed my St. Therese on my desk, next to my computer.
I pray with her daily and often times catch myself gazing at her for several minutes at a time. She is my friend and my "companion in prayer." I am happy that I know so much about this holy woman. Knowledge, in my case, has led to a lifetime devotion to the Little Flower.
