Dan Shea writes from Florida. His wife and he were originally from New York. He spent most of his working career with IBM. In 1989, he was forced to go on Social Security Disability and in 1993, his beloved wife died of breast cancer. They have four children.
He and his wife were active with Right to Life, and I served as Respect Life Director for the parish. I also, served on the Board of Emergency Pregnancy Services.
In 2000, he had the privilege of going to Lourdes as a guest of the Knights of Malta as a guest, along with his son.
Dan has written two books: “Beyond Banter & Banalities”, essays encouraging men to be ethical, honorable and more spiritual men. The ultimate goal is to provide society with more truly wise and gentle men. “Breaking Father Down” is about a priest ordained in 1959. Faced with unparalleled change in the culture, the Church and his ministry, he is determined to be faithful to his vocation and the Magisterium. Both are yet unpublished.
