St. Martin of Tours Comments

When Sulpicius Severus first met Martin of Tours he was stunned. Not only did the bishop offer him hospitality at his residence -- a monk's cell in the wilderness instead of a palace -- but Martin washed Sulpicius' hands before dinner and his feet in the evening. But Sulpicius was just the kind of person Martin showed the greatest honor to -- a humble man without any rank or privilege. People of nobility and position were turned away from his ... This saint offers us a beautiful model for living the truly Christian life, and this summary of his life was a joy to read. So inspiring. Thank you.

Reading this article made me feel like I was there and walking with Saint Martin. Saints like Martin of Tours inspire us all to be better Christians and to reach out to others who are less fortunate or misguided. His not forgetting his past is something we can all identify with and hope that we, too, can let go of after confessing our faults to ensure our salvation. What a nice story and thank God for Sulpicius Severus. God bless us all.
