Since she was very beautiful, many young men wished to marry Agnes, but she would always say, "Jesus Christ is my only Spouse." Procop, the Governor's son, became very angry when she refused him. ... Hi. I came up on this website because I wanted to research St. Agnes of Rome for the purpose of offering knowledge to a nun, things the Sister may not have known about this Saint. As the nun is of Italian decent, I have chosen St. Agnes of Rome to be incorporated into the birthday card that I am sending this particular Sister. I felt the website could've been more informative. Also may I add, some college students are blessed to attend Catholic Universities for their educations. And of course Religion is taught through out their stay. This web site might want to offer more details, keeping in mind that college students are writing college level papers for school, and they'd benefit from knowing more details of St. Agnes to give the student more to work with. I am concluding my opinion only, with, there could've stood to be more information about her so Nuns and Students alike from Catholic Universities could benefit. Thank you.
i really find her to be a great saint i love her but on another site told me she was the patron saint of young women and the special protectress of bodily purity
She is just amazing. I love talking to her and I know that unlike some people, she is always ready to listen. It makes me wonder about how she was so brave, and how she was HAPPY that those people were going to kill her. She was so kind and brave and gentle and confident and smart, she is like the best role model for young girls. She was excited to finally be with God. She is going to be my confirmation name, and I can't wait until the Priest says "Agnes, be filled with the gift of the Holy Spirit", I am so psyched that I actually get to be called Agnes for that brief moment. If I ever have a daughter, I am going to name her Agnes. It is the most beautiful name I have ever heard. And if I have two more daughters, I will name them Maria (Saint Maria Goretti) and Cecilia (Saint Cecilia).
This comment was just SPAM!

I have always admired St. Agnes, She is my favorite Patron Saint, in the words of my most beautiful Dad, he and I would say that she is one of Gods most beautiful creatures.
What a brave and holy person St Agnes was. It is wonderful that so many girls admire her and aspire to be like her. You should all be very proud of yourselves!
