Obama orders closure of Vatican Embassy Comments

It's very hard to deny that the Obama administration isn't fighting a war on Catholics. In his latest move, Obama has ordered the closure of the U.S. embassy to the Vatican away from the Holy See to a more distant compound in Rome, allegedly for "security reasons." Continue Reading

To describe Obama vs. the Catholic Church, one needs to look no further than the words of St. Peter himself:

(1 Peter 5:8-11) Be sober and vigilant. Your opponent the devil is prowling around like a roaring lion looking for [someone] to devour.

Resist him, steadfast in faith, knowing that your fellow believers throughout the world undergo the same sufferings.

The God of all grace who called you to his eternal glory through Christ [Jesus] will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you after you have suffered a little.

To him be dominion forever. Amen.

The embassy was never in the Holy See, if you mean by that that it was situated within the boundaries of the Vatican City State. It was always located within Rome proper, as are all embassies to the Holy See. There is not enough space with the Vatican to contain embassies of foreign nations. So why would you say that in your first paragraph? "Thou shall not bear false witness..."

I am thoroughly convinced that this "man", Hussein Obama, is an agent of Satan. And to labman57 above: there is not a single thing here about FOX news; that is a delusional obsession of degenerate leftists like you. Go peddle your lies elsewhere.

As I understand it, the current US Vatican Embassy is not in the Vatican. None of the embassies are actually in the Vatican proper. Rather they are all situated in Rome. This is simply a move to consolidate several US embassies and missions within one compound and security is a major consideration. Also, this planned move has been in the works since the Bush Administration. So I think we need to all take a deep breath and relax a little.

While the current administration is clearly not Christian friendly, this does not appear to be an overtly anti-religious or anti-Christian move.

With an Executive that supports the culture of death for the child in the womb, that advances the war on the family by redefining the essence of marriage, that tries to force it's citizens to purchase healthcare that is sprinkled with arsenic, it is no wonder they want to move the embassy. A lie hates the truth.

@ Labman - I would rather follow a Church that's been around for 2000 years than blindly follow the lamestream media you're listening to that's only been here since the dawn of the television that is so obviously in bed with the Communist Party. The political left wing extremists are destroying what's left of the country. Obamacare is not about providing everyone with equal access to healthcare, it is about the elimination of the middle-class. You cannot have a truly socialist/communist society as long as there is a middle-class and the bleeding heart liberals are eating it up. What the bleeding hearts don't realize is they will come after them too. If it was about equal access to healthcare, why aren't the politicians required to purchase Obamacare insurance? They are on their own healthcare plan and retirement program. The HHS artificial contraception mandate is only one indicator of the Obama war against Christianity and more specifically Catholicism. He will soon begin rounding up bishops and throw them in jail when they refuse to comply with the law and pay the fines currently being levied against the Catholic institutions and schools. What our separated brethren in Christ do not realize is once the Catholics are out of the way, they're next. Unfortunately, our Protestant brothers and sisters will not have the courage to speak up and come to our defense when we Catholics start disappearing. Then when it's their turn there will be no one left. All one has to do is read history to see that Nazi Germany is right around the corner right here in the good ole' US of A. The country has been so self-absorbed for the last 40 years asking what the country can do for me that they are blinded to the reality of what is happening.

Can't we expect to get just a LITTLE bit of actual TRUTH from a supposedly catholic website? We could see this trash on WND.
Let's be REALLY clear about this:

you might be surprised to learn that, in fact, Obama is not closing the embassy — or diminishing U.S. diplomatic relations with the Holy See in any way.

There are no embassies for ANY country in Vatican City itself — there is simply no room. All countries locate their embassies in the city of Rome. The United States has decided to move its embassy from its current location — an unremarkable converted residence — to the same compound as the U.S. Embassy to Italy. It will have it’s [sic] own separate building and a separate entrance on a different street. The new building is actually a tenth of a mile closer to the Vatican than the old one. There will be no reduction in staff or activities.

Shame on Catholic Onlne for stirring up more strife based on a lie. there's enough REAL stuff out there to report about Obama and his cronies. Making things up just to stir hysteria SHOULD be beneath the dignity and outside the moral guidelines of what's SUPPOSEDLY a Catholic website.

I am so bothered by this article since Pope Francis was behind this move.

Everyone take a deep breath and read this again...

" "The Embassy will be moved to the U.S. government compound that currently houses U.S. Embassy Rome and the U.S. Mission to UN Agencies in Rome. At that point, the U.S. government compound in Rome will house three distinct diplomatic missions with three independently accredited ambassadors working in three separate chanceries. Our Embassy to the Holy See will continue to operate as an independent mission, and our diplomatic presence will remain one of the largest missions accredited to the Holy See."

Despite Catholic Online's continuing penchant for increasingly misleading and sometimes dishonest headlines and reporting, he didn't CLOSE it. He MOVED it, for security reasons.
Why exactly is this a problem? If he didn't and something happened, we'd all be screaming for his head.

Nonsense. There are no embassies in Vatican City -- no room for them. The new US embassy to the Holy See is 1/10th of a mile closer to the Vatican than the old and has a seperate building from the US embassy to Italy with a seperate entrance on a different street. There has been no cut
