Governor Rick Perry: A Leader with Courage in an Age of Cowardice Defends Children in the Womb Comments

I write to express my admiration for Texas Governor Rick Perry. In an age of cowardice, he showed courage. The behavior of the opponents of the Right to Life in Texas, including their vulgar signs and slogans, and efforts to use human feces and urine against their opponents, were depraved. The rage of the opponents of the Right to Life in Texas exposes the importance of this legislation. They  know Texas HB2 is a part of ... Continue Reading

The comments are annoying. Rick Perry isn't a hero, he's one of many who speak on matters of abortion. Republicans in general are just as hellbound as the Democrats.

The main person we save when we work against abortion isn't the child but the woman. After all, the child isn't going to hell. The woman and the doctor are. It's their souls that are the primary objective of our work. We defend the child, yes, it is a horrendous act from which they need saving, but we can't stop a woman from aborting her child. She's the one with the power and the state backing. Her souls and the doctor's is the one needing grace.

Very courageous of Gov. Rick Perry, BUT isn't ALL abortion wrong and shouldn't we make it all illegal. I know thoughts on this are considered divisive in the prolife world, but the underlying message denegrates the personhood of the preborn: at a certain point life is sacred.

The governor Perry has shown the people of the U.S.A. that there still are decent people in the government. I am a Canadian and pray that also in Canada shall we find a man or a woman of such integrity. It takes one courageous person to inspire the whole nation.
God keep the governor healthy and strong!

How encouraging to see a clear sense of right and wrong in a political leader, and to witness strength in action! God bless Governor Perry.

I'm kicking myself for not supporting Rick Perry in the Republican primaries. This is an achievement that will be a part of American history. My perception of him has dramatically changed. God bless him.

I am so happy and thankful for Govenor Perry for standing up for and protecting the unborn. I also pray that other governors and senators will find the strength and courage to stand up for and protect unborn children. May God bless governor Rick Perry.

The truth is that the words "courage" and "cowardice" in today's context are simply political terms used to define those with whom we agree politically ("Courage") and those with whom we disagree politically ("Cowardice") and are so over-used in the political context that "courage" has been effectively stripped of anything resembling virtue and "cowardice" has lost its sting.

Risking neither life nor limb, nor anything else, Rick Perry signed a piece of paper. By that standard, any bureaucrat at a managerial level displays great courage.

Oh Deacon Keith, what a wonderful sensitive article...I have learned to appreciate
and want to know Governor Rick Perry just from reading this GOD inspired article...
I feel inspired by his courage of leadership amongst all the cowardise displayed by
the politicians that I voted for....And, I will admit, I am very disappointed with their
lack of courage and leadership for not keeping their promises to lead us by our
    Constitution and Bill of Rights...
The courage Governor Rick Perry has shown is the courage that must be shown
to be President of these United States of America...I pray that GOD will guide him
and the Texas legislature to keep up his courage to keep doing what they were
elected to do for the people of Texas...I do admire Govenor Rick Perry...
Thank you Deacon Keith for this wonderful inspiring article...GOD bless you...
