Thetruthhurts... yes, your screen name is correct, because regardless of how swell a guy Zimmerman may be, the FACT is that if he'd done as he was told and left Martin alone in the first place, NOTHING WOULD HAVE HAPPENED, and no one would be dead. There is no way to spin this so it's ANYONE but Zimmerman's fault, entirely, because of that one decision.

I'm surprised that you would report on what T. Nugent had to say about anything. With his back ground, he has little room to talk. I know you can do better than this.

There were a few comments about this article not belonging. Well, the case being discussed is one of national interest, and the emotions which go with it are certainly appropriate for Catholics to consider. I would disagree with those people. Of course, as always, if you aren't interested, just don't read it.

The truth is it was self defense, NOT racism as the media would have you believe.
George Zimmerman did NOT run up to Trayvon with guns blazing, evil in his eyes, drooling at the mouth to shoot a little child with skittles walking home from the store.
There has been nothing but one sided media propaganda in the Mainstream media trying to demonize Zimmerman. I hate to say it, but the only tv station that gave the Zimmerman's a chance to explain their side and feelings was FOX news. the impression I got was that the Zimmerman family is highly moralistic family. There is no joy in taking a life.

It appears that the activists (and the president) are on a slippery slope. They cannot admit that it really was self defense and that they were wrong. Now they have all the government and media agencies working overtime to find something, anything, any incident in Zimmerman's past that could be stretched as racism. Obama and politicians are now jumping on the Zimmerman bashing bandwagon, to save face.

This is a political power grab. As the old saying goes; never let a crisis go to waste.

George is not a racist as proved over the years with his community involvement, friends, and record helping the communities disadvantage children including black children.

It's amazing to me how all the race baiters come out when they can get there picture in the news, on both sides, Al, Jessie, Our President, and now Ted. Where is the love, only hate. Don't you just hate the little box they put us in, White,Black, Hispanic, I like human make my box a little bigger, more inclusive.

I agree with others this too does not belong here or anywhere.

What does this have to do with faith, hope, love or God?

This article doesn't belong on a website like that claims to "Inform,Inspire & Ignite". This article does not at all represent the true Catholic way of living.

Vance... you're saying this kid's alleged attitude means he deserved to die? We're bringing up pasts? Well, perhaps we could mention Ted Nugent's frequent boasting about how he dodged the draft. Maybe his overt womanizing years ago. If we're bringing up personal lives to pro9ve something, Nugent's opinions on morality are pretty useless in that light, no? Or, perhaps, keep it closer to the case. Let's talk about your hero Zimmerman's assault on a police officer, and his domestic violence. Shall we shoot George Zimmerman and Ted Nugene now, Vance, or is there maybe some mitigating or pigmentary condition that makes these men... an amoral, unpatriotic coward and a thug who wanted to be a cop... "ok" while Trayvon Martin is a bad seed?

    Merriam Webster-racism:
a belief that some races are by nature superior to others; also: discrimination based on such belief

    Webster New World Dictionary-racism:
a doctrine or teaching without scientific support that claims to find racial differences in character, intelligence, etc that asserts the superiority of one race over another or others, and that seeks to maintain the supposed purity of a race or races.

When a large black guy in his house tells a small white woman he is in fact racist and the white woman is therefore unwelcome based on skin color, I am with Charles Barkley-blacks can be racist too.

look, the intellgencia wants to make this about gun control, not really a black or white thing. I believe it is a family thing. More youth, black, white, Hispanic, native American, are losing the family bond and are looking for something to fill the void by dividing into these tribal entities. It is happening at a faster pace in the black youth.

Believe me, I don't want to see more bullet holes, in any black, white, or purple kids than I have already seen. All I see is red blood, week after week.

The Biblical command is more correctly read, "Thou shalt not murder." It is the intentional killing of an innocent that is forbidden, not the other forms that are mentioned in these comments.
