Church grew through martyrdom and persecution, it can survive any persecution, except Islam, because their deceiving taqiyya da'wa propaganda can make it look like one of the Abrahamic faiths. Which confuse many Christinas. We lost four major Christian centres out of five to Islam, except Rome. Unfortunately many Catholics think inter-faith approach is the best way to deal with Islam. Muslims are not interested in interfaith, because of Shirk, the greatest sin in their theology, associating a partner (for example Jesus) to Allah. The Syrian rebels and the many "moderate" Muslims enjoying the butchering had no problems or pangs, when they see one of the "greatest sinner" is punished. Let's be awaken and be aware of what Islam is doing, instead of arming them, and being advocates for the "nice" Islam and "moderate" Muslims, let's be proud of Christianity and as St. Paul said, let's always have an answer (apologia - not apology) to defend our freedom and Christianity.

THIS COULD BE ANY PLACE IN MICHIGAN OR FLORIDA! The Koran clearly states that when Muslims become the dominant population - as in Belgium - their Sharia "law" kicks in. Michigan is now overrun with muslims and Florida is on the brink of Sharia "law." In the past, the real Jesuits were able to deal with this... But now the Jesuits have been seriously infiltrated and need to be purged to once again provide the hedge of protection other Catholics have counted on. Meanwhile, those politicians in the U.S. responsible for funding these unrestrained and guilty muslim decapitators need to be forced to watch this before their constituents. IN THE FINAL ANALYSIS, IT IS THE AMERICAN WE THE PEOPLE, SORELY LACKING IN VIGILANCE AND REMISS IN CALLING POLITICIANS TO ACCOUNT, WHO PAID FOR THE BEHEADING OF THESE CHRISTIANS! SHAME!!

It is an indication to the support of the Assad government, against the horror the thugs, supported by the west even the media, commit.

They came for the Saturday People in 1939 and the world closed her eyes and ears. Now that they're knocking on the door of the Sunday People, let's see if the world has come out of her coma. The guy in the White House will fund these killers and were there a third term for the Presidency, I believe the same people of the US would sleepwalk through it with a yes vote.

What would Jesus do? What would He have us do? And Saint Francis?

This article is misleading and presents false information. News.va indicated on 6/25/13 (http://www.news.va/en/news/vatican-mourns-killing-of-monk-latest-victim-of-sy) that Fr. Franҫois Mourad was shot, *not* beheaded.

A careful look at the video shows that the man being beheaded had different facial hair and lacked the distinctive mole above Fr. Franҫois Mourad's right eye. It is, to say the least, *very* disappointing that this was reported without source validation by catholic.org, and, dare I say, dangerous.

There is a lot of misinformation surrounding this incident including some false claims that Fr. Franҫois Mourad was a bishop. People, don't believe everything you read.

The Vatican needs to stop promoting the so-called "common ground" between Islam and Christianity.

    It doesn't exist.

Formal relationships with Islamic groups only serve to open increase Muslim power.

How does one say this is about Jihad but not Islam? For Muslims, the requirements of jihad are explicitly commanded by Allah in the Qur'an. There is nothing more "true" in Islam than fi sabilli jihad" / "jihad in the cause of Allah." Surah (chapter) 9 of the Qur'an is the most authoritative on the requirement of jihad. You should read them. 9:5 is the general call and 9:29 applies to "People of the Book" (Jews and Christians). Instead of "Googling" for an answer, check out an authoritative Tafsir Ibn Kathir (the most authoritative Tafsir [official commentary] on the meaning of the verses of the Qur'an in English).

Incidentally, this is an issue of fact, the fact of published Islamic law and not a subjective "my friend told me ..." Saying "its jihad not Islam" is like saying "its the sacraments, not the Catholic Church."
