Courageous Cardinal George of Chicago Defends Marriage, Calls for Public Conversion Comments

Francis Cardinal George, O.M.I, the Cardinal Archbishop of Chicago, is one of the great churchmen of our age. His courage has been demonstrated throughout his service to the Church and the world in which she carries forward in time the redemptive mission of the Lord. He is a holy man, in love with the Lord and well aware of the challenges we face in this new missionary age. Cardinal George reminds me of heroic Bishops throughout our history as a ... The only way to save traditional marriage is to condemn the GBLT culture that is lobbing to destroy marriage. The GBLT culture has destroyed the Catholic Church through the corruption of some of its Priests, the public and Catholics schools and institutions because of their sexually abusive instructors, the government and its politicians because they condone homosexually active lifestyles as a human right. HBO has a wonderful documentary about the sins of the Catholic Church but it shows more than its share of hetero/homo-pornography in its broadcast content. One can't condemn the devil and approve of the devils actions at the same time. The GBLT culture is the devil in action because they are the internal source of so much scandal within our society today at every level. Gay marriage is sexual abuse because it is disordered. The very idea of it is simply wrong. It will result in more sexual abuse of minors in future generations than there ever was in this day and age. If " gay marriage" is a civil right than there is no limit to what defines the limits of sexual abuse because these marriages are a source of sexual abuse. I am writing this way because the Catholic Church is immersed heavily in this sexual abuse scandal. The Church is in grave danger from top to bottom. It is costing the laity plenty in abuse financially and spiritually. Homosexuality is the root cause! It is time to admit it and fight against this abusive force that is destroying the world! Call me a homophobe but in good conscience it is time to stop the politically correct thing on this matter and tell it like it is!

CARDINAL GEORGE ONLY ACKNOWLEDGING PARTIAL DUTY Publicly advocating these values are not enough! Cardinal George needs to clean out the hundreds of millions of dollars of ripoffs and misguided money still intensively underway through the Saul Alinsky infiltrated control of the Catholic Campaign For Human Development. Saul Alinsky the atheist radical revolutionary socialist who infiltrated and exploited CCHD to the hilt starting in Chicago. Cardinal George needs to be called to strict accountability as this CCHD corruption needs immediate attention!

Deacon, your excellent comments highlight the benefits that Christian faith and thinking have brought to Western society. Cardinal George's remarks are clear, charitable, and logical.

20 Each man must remain in that condition in which he was called. 21 Were you called while a slave? Do not worry about it; but if you are able also to become free, rather do that. 22 For he who was called in the Lord while a slave, is the Lord's freedman; likewise he who was called while free, is Christ's slave. 23 You were bought with a price; do not become slaves of men. 24 Brethren, each one is to remain with God in that condition in which he was called.
1st Letter of St. Paul to the Corinthians chapter 7
Marriage in the uS is among a government that is in the follow of a coin...liken an indentured slave's.
"One of my antidotes to the malady is to call attention to the courageous Bishops standing firm in the ancient but ever new Catholic Christian faith."
    Who could disagree?

"SPRINGFIELD, IL (Catholic Online) - On Friday, May 31, 2013, the Illinois Legislature did not pass legislation which would have mandated by legislative fiat that homosexual and lesbian partnerships be given the same legal status as real marriage. Thus, the title of my article, Marriage Won in Illinois." This entire article deserves international attention.

Tom McGuire - I can appreciate your concern.

However, charity and love isn't always about being "nice." Jesus was often harsh to some people whom he knew needed tough love. He called the Pharisees hypocrites and snakes to their face, and that they were brood of vipers and asked them how they will not be condemned to hell. (Mt 23:33) He even rebuked Peter telling him, "get behind me satan." (Mt 16:23). He was straight and harsh to Peter, the one we all know was chosen to lead his church.

Sometimes loving someone means telling someone "how it is" even if it isn't considered "nice."

@Tom McGuire - Of course we should always try to watch the "tone and tenor" in our writing and speech, but I don't see how " Jesus spent little time talking about the evils of his age" conforms to the reality of Jesus driving out the money changers or his frequent sharp criticisms of the scribes and pharisees.
