Stephen Hawking, great theory, but you're wrong! Comments

World-renown physicist and author, Stephen Hawking, gave a lecture last night at Pasadena's California Institute of Technology astoundingly claiming that God wasn't needed to create the universe, and that instead physical laws would cause the universe to spontaneously appear. Continue Reading

Bryan? Who created mind? How did mind unite with matter? If matter just became a creation where is the sense behind that. Mind justifies the existence of matter and gives it validity God or no God. It is in faith for either spirit or matter as fact that these conflicts exist. Both exist together from our perspectives. Community is where we find God. Living and loving each other is where life finds its significance. Christ was pure love beyond human imagining. Christ is body, blood soul and Divinity, the ever living truth that is the Eucharist. Human kind cannot reason Divinity as Divinity is a matter of faith. I have faith that you exist because though I do not personally have a relationship with you I am responding to you in this email. I am from The greater Boston area. Why does a couple of good looking young men think that bombing and hurting and killing innocent people in their own capital city make sense to them? Why do people hate and kill innocent bystanders? Marathon runners are the pride of the world, not just Boston. They train in a spirit of faith and for endurance to achieve the goal of Finishing the race. Many run for a good philanthropic cause. Why kill and destroy? Who created God? Who created people that enjoy destroying other people?Jesus is pure goodness beyond the imagination. No one is pure enough to invent Christ through some kind of folklore passed down through the ages. Faith creates those who believe in God. Faith also creates the evil and murderous individual. Illusion is a matter of perspective I suppose. Community is the power to act and interact with each other with love instead of hate. If evil is a control than the power is always meant to be overcome because it just is not the right way to be. In Christ we know love exists. Love sustains all things. We can feel love but we cannot see love or measure it. It is however through the eyes to eye contact that both love and hate can be seen. You know what I am trying to say but prove it you cannot. I see God,in love,as I see him expressed in the eyes of others. I see the devil as hate a force I can also see expressed in the eyes of others. Worst of all I know that I can be the worlds greatest sinner if I train myself to have no conscience or love for others. In Christ I know that the anecdote is to become a saint,as a saint is obedient to God as Christ was. Christ is Love. Through the eyes of faith I know this. Creation is a beginning and an ending. God is infinite, without beginning or ending. Who on earth can explain infinite realities. It is in the numbers my friend, numbers are endless,no ending, only an infinite concept, endless. Prior to the number zero we have an endless number of negative numbers. Mathematics reveals a sense of infinity as well as a sense of numbers before zero. The point at which numbers have significance as a positive measurement. Life begins at zero and ends with a variable given number of years for each of us. Life is a positive force of conscienceness. So as far as creation is concerned we are concerned with that because we are born and then we die. We have no idea of anything before or beyond the time we live in other than a sense of history that we must be taught,as well as how to plan for a future up until we die. When a dirty bomber destroys life or severely disfigures some one enough to make life a challenge instead of a joy, explain that. Faith? Everyone needs a spirit of good faith to survive happily together,God or no God,fact or theory? Love makes life a joy. I believe that in community as people of faith we find a loving community. God is Love! Church is community.

GOD is the ultimate creator of this world. Why scientists never found exactly where did the human originally come from before the Australopithecus? And yet, they are trying to ignore the existence of GOD. But our GOD is a forgiving GOD and is GOD for those who believe and those who do not believe in him. Those scientists are just normal people that only need a light from the HOLY SPIRIT and so the LORD can reveal them more about this world.

Divine mind is superior to all it creates. Matter is the creation of Mind. Matter cannot create Mind. Mind determines what matter is. Mind determines what truth is as mind interprets what creation is. Hawkings is a train wreck as far as matter is concerned as he is severely disabled. Mind determines what the impact of his life has been about. Hawkins is an example of the superiority of Mind over matter. Matter should determine that Hawkings is inferior and incapable of being a constructive human being at all. Instead Hawkings by by human existence proves that mind is supreme. God is MIND! Mind answers prayers. Hawkings life is a wonderful prayer answered. Hawkings is a great scientist. Imagination is an inquisitive mind. Agree with him or not mind,Divine Mind, has inspired Hawkings his entire life. To have a presence of mind is about everyone's simple desire to be. God cannot be denied. Only a foolish mind cannot imagine the Divine Mind. Divine Mind is a mystery for the human mind. To truly imagine one must consider the validity of all things Divine as well as material and scientific. That is a human blessing. To imagine is not to be deluded. Right or wrong is a matter of debate as everyone must use their minds and experiences to be able to simply think and reason logically. Mind is the ability to perceive the logic in all things. God is logical, love is logical,in Christ we can know that God is love. The existence of people like Hawkings is logical and necessary. Hawkings proves that mind cannot be limited by the appearances of matter. Mind is superior to matter! God is Divine Mind,a mystery and beyond all human imagining.

As most religious are based on Creator, they can't accept what Hawking said. Simply think by imaging there is no religion at all, his saying is very simple and acceptable.

Buddhism is the one which deny existence of Creator (God).

Science tries to study and explain nature and predict nature. Science has a theory and then it is verified with quantitative tests. The tests confirm the theory or the theory is revised. (example the Higgs Boson ). I would be very interested to see the author come up with quantitative test for faith and religion. When people of faith fall short in their faith there is no solution except to accept the fact that people are human and have to try better. When Sciences fall short, Science just revises the theory and the scientific search continues. So science is understanding nature and using the findings to make life easier. Faith is how you live your life. If you get religion into science you are neither serving science nor religion

The very fact that EVERYONE questions how and why is proof of God. Perhaps that is the result of Adam and Eve's eating of the "Tree of Knowledge". I notice no one mentioned the existence of Jesus and His martyrdom as well as His followers. Does anyone really think that so many would choose to die hideously rather than deny Him? What do the "scientists" offer as explanation of that? Remember, this happened BEFORE the bible was written. All they had was what they experienced.

All of you "enlightened" atheists who have popped by to sneer at us "deluded" Catholics, please pay attention:
Hawking is mistaken, and you don't need me to tell you why, you could have reasoned this all by yourself.
We know in nature that all causes have been themselves caused. No one has ever observed a cause that is itself uncaused. Hawking says that all that is needed is gravity for everything to be caused. But then gravity is itself the first cause of everything. Gravity must then be uncaused, I think the article claims that it is "spontaneous". Outside of science spontaneous natural phenomena are called miracles. Therefore Hawking resorts to the miraculous to explain the universe.
There must be an uncaused cause for the universe, or you end up with an infinite regress - which is self contradictory as an explanation. There is no uncaused cause in nature.
The first cause then has to be outside of nature, or, if it is in nature, it has to be explained via another cause and is therefore not "first" (are you following this logic, smug atheists?).
There must be, then, a first cause that is outside of nature. The term "supernatural" is used to describe such a cause. Like it or not, there is no nature without there being a super-nature. Unlike Hawkings, we Catholics except this obvious logic. Hawkings can't because he is committed to an ideology (i.e. atheism) and must ignore good logic if it leads to God.
THEREFORE: Hawkings has his head in the sand, and you simplistic followers of this nonsense have yours where the sun don't shine. Pull it out, get on your knees, and thank the Lord for your life. You will feel much better.

If it was the Big bang then from where did it come from, but to the Spiritual understanding that in the resurrection where the Spirit leads the body to the "Spiritual body", man is not depended on any material things in which case God cannot be identified through universal substances of the materialistic dimension contained in what is called Time. Applying this to the words of Hawking, is but to the plain Biblical words of the manner "You know not the matters of the Spirit" the very basis of life, spiritually understood as "The building block of life" from where comes all. In short Life creates life & non life, non life cannot create life.

Part of the article says: "Isn't the teaching of our Holy Church enough? What questions remain except for the how?"
    Q. What Does The Catholic Church Teach about Origins?
    A. (Partial quote)
    - God created everything “in its whole substance” from nothing (ex nihilo) in the beginning.
    (Lateran IV; Vatican Council I)
    - Genesis does not contain purified myths. (Pontifical Biblical Commission 1909[1])
    - Genesis contains real history - it gives an account of things that really happened. (Pius XII)
    ...
    - The “beginning” of the world included the creation of all things, the creation of Adam and Eve and the Fall (Jesus Christ [Mark 10:6]; Pope Innocent III; Blessed Pope Pius IX, Ineffabilis Deus).
    - The body of Eve was specially created from a portion of Adam’s body (Leo XIII). She could not have originated via evolution.
    ...
    - All the Fathers who wrote on the subject believed that the Creation days were no longer than 24-hour-days. (Consensus of the Fathers of the Church)
    - The work of Creation was finished by the close of Day Six, and nothing completely new has since been created - except for each human rational soul at conception (Vatican Council I)
    - St. Peter and Christ Himself in the New Testament confirmed the global Flood of Noah. It covered all the then high mountains and destroyed all land dwelling creatures except eight human beings and all kinds of non-human creatures aboard the Ark (Unam Sanctam, 1302)
    - The historical existence of Noah’s Ark is regarded as most important in typology, as central to Redemption. (1566 Catechism of the Council of Trent)
    - Evolution must not be taught as fact, but instead the pros and cons of evolution must be taught.
    (Pius XII, Humani Generis)
    - Investigation into human “evolution” was allowed in 1950, but Pope Pius XII feared that an acceptance of evolutionism might adversely affect doctrinal beliefs.

I guess this man, trapped by his body blames God for his condition, instead of praising him for his mind!! A pity!!
