A list of what the media IS NOT telling you about the Boston TERROR attack Comments

Media across the United States are delivering paltry details on the obvious terrorist attack in Boston. Mainstream media and even President Obama are showing great reticence to even label the attack as a terrorist attack. Continue Reading

These kind of comments are not worhty of a Catholic website. However the reasons for the attack, we should be praying for the victims and for peace and tolerance among all nations and peooples.

Not for nothing but all this has been reported once confirmed. With all due respect, best practice in journalism is to report information --only once it's confirmed: look at the hue and cry over the mistaken report of an arrest this week.

thank you, Tim and Paulf and Jack for your logical response to this commentary (it clearly does not meet the definition of news reporting.

also, speaking of accuracy in reporting, you might want to correct the dateline on your photo. As it stands now, you have injured people being taken away on gurneys the day ***before*** the marathon happened. The Boston Marathon was on Monday, April 15.

To Louis Barta: your question is a fair one -- and my best guess is that you've never been to the finish line at Boston. They did a sweep ahead of time but they cannot do much once the crowds arrive. It is completely cheek-by-jowl and near impossible to sweep comprehensively, unless you were to clear the entire area of spectators. There are probably upwards of 50,000 spectators, media, volunteers, and officials in the last 1/4 mile of the route. In some areas it is 8 and 10 deep.

can you tell I am from Boston and have been at that finish line many, many times?

I'm very much surprised that this article is still on this web site. It's embarrassing...after all, it's Catholic Online, not Alex Jones Online. Let's keep our wits about us.

All this just proves the government cannot protect the citizens of the USA. And all they care about is disarming Law abiding citizens from protecting themselves....

Obama and his govt have never yet even told us what happened at Benghazi while four of our people were murdered on his watch!

And despite the billions being paid by American taxpayers to suppost all the various federal agencies, why would people expect Obama and his govt to tell us anything here?

I am a Canadian and find that all politicians these days walk on egg shells when it comes to the middle east and terrorism. I don't think they do it intentially and yet I do think that some are cowards and don't want to admit that this is a terrorist attack no different from what happened a decade ago now. It has only been a day and time will tell how much they will reveal to he press or how much the press is allowed to reveal to the public. At this time we should not over react on President Obama's motives for not calling this for what it is. They can't keep things quiet forever the public won't allow it.

Other than who did it and why, the one pressing question I have is this: how could the Boston PD have not done a thorough bomb-sweep around the immediate vicinity of the Boston Marathon's finish line -- the most crowded focal point (and most obvious place) where such a device might have been viciously positioned to inflict the most harm?

Too complacent? Too lackadaisical? Too stupid? What gives?

Knock off the paranoia. All of these listed items were in the regular media today. I heard it on the network news stations, and npr radio.

Whether its right-wing "patriot" movement crazies justifying their actions to kill fellow Americans in the name of "freedom" or Middle East extremists they will be found and prosecuted.

Very sad that Catholic on line has been taken over by prejudice and bigots pretending they are giving unbiased reporting. Is this another mouthpiece of NewsMax and Rush Limbaugh?
