Why is Homeland Security arming itself with 2 BILLION rounds of ammunition? Comments

Why is the government buying mass quantities of ammunition? That's the question that arises after Obama's Department of Homeland Security placed a request on the Fed Bid website to solicit 21.6 million rounds of ammunition. Last year, the DHS purchased a total of 1.6 billion rounds. Continue Reading

Does anyone remember a few months ago a story about the Social Security Administration buying a ton of ammunition? I could be mistaken, but I think the IRS bought a bunch too. This is very disconcerting.

This is a little disturbing considering some of the information. But before we jump into some conclusions; remember that DHS encompases quite a few agencies, including the Border Patrol (which is the single largest 'Armed' federal law enforcement agency with over 20,000 agents). Unlike local police departments, federal agencies have to qualify with their firearms every three months. This takes quite a bit of ammunition.
What I'm getting at is that probably a lot of this ammo is for training purposes and was bought in bulk to cover the agencies under DHS for several years.
Is something strange going on at DHS? Probably.
Something sinister? Maybe, but we'll never know until it happens.

Thank you for bringing this information to the attention of the public. It makes me think that many of our current leaders are boldfaced liars and thieves, and that the Obama administration is thoroughly corrupt and dangerous.

Maybe it's a back door attempt at gun control. They can't change laws as quickly as they would desire, so they buy up ammo, the cost goes up and people are priced out of the market. Crowds at recent gun shows where private citizens are stockpiling would indicate that a large number of citizens are waking up. My question would be "What do you do about it? " The news is filled with propaganda or blacked out altogether. That prevents like minded persons from organizing, creating splinter groups with no real power. The internet is trolled for "terrorists " who can be picked up and made to disappear (thanks to the National Defense Authorization Act of 2012). Private companies are receiving contracts to fly drones in our airspace (purely for altruistic causes, if you believe that), prison systems are being contracted out, etc. Maybe also they are purchasing stockpiles for the large numbers of private contractors (aka mercenaries), funnelling supplies through this dept. to avoid detection, much like the Iran/Contra debacle. At any rate, hopefully at some near time, one authentic investigative journalist who hasn't forgotten their calling will make the difficult and honorable choice to do right by his/her professional responsibilities and actually investigate and report the facts. Then, it's up to us. I wonder which side the military would come out on? Would it be to defend the people and the Constitution or the government which has shred it? This is not just one party or one person. It requires more than the president to pull this off. If this was not true, impeachment proceedings would have been initiated. Take a lesson from the Mormon Church and start stockpiling basic necessities, then trust that win or lose, all will proceed as God wills.

...and why are right-leaning manufacturers willing to sell them at this rate?
Because to the manufacturers, only ONE thing matters. Not life, not America, not freedom or the Constitution... just MONEY. Wake up, America... you're being sold on both sides!!

Surely, the man who ran for President four years ago and promised the most open administration in history would not be doing these things in secret. Why, I remember his promise to put the laws on the internet for three days so all Americans could read it before taking action. It only took one year of Obamacare to violate that promise. He didn't even give the legislators time to read that legislation. I don't think our present President is the least bit concerned about lying or secretcy. I pray for him a lot because I am truly concerned for his soul.
