Atheist Dawkins unjustly abuses all the world's Catholics with this comment Comments
According to the infamous atheist, Richard Dawkins, growing up Catholic is a form of child abuse worse than sexual abuse. Go ahead and reread that, and let it sit for awhile. Continue Reading

I find it entertaining that the requirements to leave a comment would have blocked pieces of the article if the same restrictions applied.
Psychological abuse is terrible, so is physical abuse. Dawkins was trying to make a point and the religious folks have seized on it as a great quote mining opportunity for character assassination.
Ad hominems aside, being brought up religious with the threat of hell as your primary reason to follow rules is terrible.
This article is so biased, it's disgusting. It will gladden people who agree with the sentiment and anger people who disagree. What a waste.
One thing I have learned from atheists is that they are never wrong.
How happy are those that understand the Catholic Church and abide by her teachings.what Christ said in the gospel was that anyone who is not against them is for them.how can it be that the vertican 1 was still in use even after inaugurating the 2nd vertican council? He has no knowledge of the authority of the church.since blessed pope JohnXXIII opened the church windows,no priest would say that a protestant is in hell unless he is not commited to his work.please dear consortium,I would like to use this medium to make an appeal:words of encouragement to weak catholics should be added to deliberate matters like this to discourage fall in faith, most catholics in my country are not firm in faith. When the protestants ask a chalenging question like: why do you honor Mary?,they are speechless.this makes some of them to leave the holy church of Christ.which would you prefer,to gain or to loose?.
Statements like those of Mr. Dawkins have been used in the past to justify outright persecution of Christians, as they are to this day and will be in the future. Those suffering from atheistic delusions like Mr. Dawkins, and who are of a militant bent, can easily be persuaded that outlawing Catholicism or any and all forms of religion is the only way toward human progress. How easily -- even inevitably -- this leads to suppression, persecution, and violence, including martyrdom. That's what Communism is all about. And that's why the atheism at the heart of Communism and similar ideologies is anti-human.
As Christians, we have to make an equally bold statement: that without God, "man" does not exists. Without reference to the One who creates us in His own image and likeness, who creates us male and female, and who creates us in and for love, "man" disintegrates not merely into a beast, nor even into a monster, but into a demon.
All this nothwithstanding, and with great joy, may all be blessed by a wonderful celebration of the Nativity of the Lord! Let us pray for Richard Dawkins and for all those who have lost the sense of their own humanity through the poison of atheism, and let us be ready to welcome them home in love and truth when the Holy Spirit finally breaks through the darkness and misery and nothingness of the devil's lie.

How sad is it that so many people hate the Church while overlooking the obvious horrors of the world around them? They condemn God's word of love and believe that making marijuana legal will improve our society. Sad.
We must continue to pray for the conversion of people such as these.
Dawkins is an equal opportunity abuser. Not just Catholics, but all people of religious faith. We should not take it personally. He is a sad, obviously unhappy man who feels it is his life mission to abuse those who have found happiness in belief in a personal Creator-God. Actually, he is quite pathetic with his remonstrances. We should all be praying for him.
