We Applaud the Republican Platform: No 'Abortion Rights', Only a Right to Life Comments
The language of the Republican Platform is refreshingly clear: "Faithful to the 'self-evident' truths enshrined in the Declaration of Independence, we assert the sanctity of human life and affirm that the unborn child has a fundamental individual right to life which cannot be infringed. We support a human life amendment to the Constitution and endorse legislation to make clear that the Fourteenth Amendment's protections apply to unborn children." Continue Reading

I too appplaud the GOP for their consistent stand for the Right to Life. The Party of Death continues to march on with their Jack Boots trampling on Lives of babies, elderly, and handicapped and stomping on the Constitutional Rights to the free exercise of Religion. We Catholics have a duty to Vote Out Obama and the Party of Death.
Social issues are not the only issues on which we should base our vote! The parties use the social issues to grab the voters who will never look further into their policies. Let's face it. Neither party fully embraces catholic teaching and pretending that the Republicans do because they support the preservation of Marriage and the life of unborn babies is ignorant.
Mormons have a deep seeded prejudices against Catholics. America itself and its forefathers did not embrace the Catholic faith. Many of the forefathers were freemasons, a cult that abhors the Church. Let's face it. America was doomed from the start. We today are the lone superpower. What does God do to nations who have power? He has time and time again smitten their power. God will take away America's power. God will show that He alone is Justice. Neither candidate can nor will strengthen the Church.
It is up to us, not any government to uphold the Church. It is up to us Catholics to preserve the integrity of the oneness we are. It is up to us to daily offer the Holy Sacrament of Mass. It is up to us to work for conversion and pray for lost sheep. It is up to us to defend life. The Government is not the Church. It was our fault for the Protestant Reformation. It was our fault for letting Christianity become so divided. It is our duty to fight for One Church. To prepare a way for Christ's coming.
@GW, Margaret Sanger, Charles Darwin, Freidrich Neitzsche et al are giving you a standing ovation from hell. Let's kill babies to cure poverty. You're one brilliant guy.
Rob, it's not the inaction of the GOP that turn people off, rather, it is your Party of Death's fanatic attack on Life and Religious Freedom that does.
I listed to an old episode of Mother Angelica yesterday. The guest she had on the show spoke emphatically how our failure to follow Catholic teachings in this area is the primary reason abortion has remained. Everytime we support an exception to no abortion, the evil will remain. This morning on Seize the Day with Gus Loyd, he had a guest that was conceived in rape. Her story and message echoed that of Mother Angelica's guest.
Timing is everything because previously Paul Ryan had been pretty adamant on no exceptions regarding the protection of life. But when pressed on the same issue he refused to answer the question but instead punted and said Mitt Romney will set the policy for the campaign. Well, there you have it. Abortion scores another victory and will remain, platform fanfare aside.
G. W. Hmmm , let me see. I have a choice between Obama, a communist who hates this country or Romney, an American, who loves this country and wants to put people back to work. Geeee, what should I do? G.W. give me a break. You're either a Catholic or your not. I can see that you are another one or those Cino's who thinks he knows better about his faith than our Holy Father, who by the way, called this administration DEMONIC. WAKE UP. Research these people in Washington and free yourself from the evil that is perpetrating this country through this administration. Learn the prayer to St. Michael and say it as many times a day that you can. God bless.
GW,
Your view is not only silly, but stupid. From what you have written, I understand your view to be that we must control the population of "poor people" with birth control. Don't you think Adolf Hitler would have said something like, "What is it then that we can use to take care of the expanding numbers of Jewish and Christian people once genocide is illegal?" It is the very same point you are making.
You cannot call yourself 'pro-life" if you do not truly support a pro-life candidate. Remember, it is not the too hot or the too cold, but the lukewarm that God hath spat out of his mouth.
On the topic of spending, president Obama has spent an average of $4,000,000 (four million) a day. This is $1,460,000,000 a year.
It seems to me that the media has blinded you. You seem to overlook certain facts. I do not understand how you can see Mr. Romney as a 'not-good-man' while looking towards Mr. Obama as a "very good man". If it is because as you say, Mr. Romney is "no friend of Catholics", then you have overlooked an entire presidency. Mr. Obama became a candidate claiming to be against same-sex marriage. However, he has somehow reverted his claims and now supports their "rights". He supports, obviously, abortion which NO Catholic, or Christian for that matter, should.
I am thinking before I vote, which, by the way, will not be for a few years. (I'm 15)
-Good article, Deacon!
Forgive me if I'm I'm jumping up and down as this was no suprise. I just hope that it's followed up by action. I hope that we begin to hold these politicians accountable for the platforms they say defines them. If this issue is going to be the number one issue that controls our vote, then we'd better start ensuring they deliver on this right? I do think there is a different standard imposed on voters than on politicians when it comes to the life issue. I would argue that the inaction on the part of the GOP on this issue is one factor causing people to disregard this issue.
Is not action causing scandal for voters?
How any practicing Catholic could use thier vote for a Democrat Platform of same gender marriage, abortion rights, and policies against religion freedom is to me scandalous.
The Republican Platform Committee has shown great courage by publicly defending life. The truth is obvious: abortion kills a child. Many people in our society cowardly look away from that truth, reject it, or methodically and blatantly promote the destruction of life. We all were conceived, and those of us now living need to rejoice in the fact that we are alive thanks to our mothers giving us birth. Whatever the circumstances of our conception, our mothers gave us birth. Conception, pregnancy, birth. Priceless.
