We Applaud the Republican Platform: No 'Abortion Rights', Only a Right to Life Comments

The language of the Republican Platform is refreshingly clear: "Faithful to the 'self-evident' truths enshrined in the Declaration of Independence, we assert the sanctity of human life and affirm that the unborn child has a fundamental individual right to life which cannot be infringed. We support a human life amendment to the Constitution and endorse legislation to make clear that the Fourteenth Amendment's protections apply to unborn children." Continue Reading

Would the one who would call abortion a woman's right and would readily have an abortion on demand, would they have had any love at all for the life that was in them that they chose to abort? Isn't it sin that chooses to deny any love for another that is alive,be it any being alive from conception to a natural death? Shouldn't we always pray for those now deceased who served us as loving friends during our lifetime? Is not a political candidate representative of a hope that harmony would be the goal of government,so that trust is the goal of any kind of the desire to a love,to serve and be served? Shouldn't any political candidate be a unitive leader
that would be a defender of life and liberty for all so that we can all trust each other as well as those who would govern us? Respect for each other is a healthy respect for life,as to love life is to serve others,so isn't the very term to abort another a division and a separation from one another, opposed to all that represents life, liberty, and certainly, the pursuit of happiness, even of any hope for the common good of all? What party would best answer these questions? Which candidate? Is there any reasonable choice come November?

Republicans have had anti-abortion platforms for 30 years. Its just a ploy to get your money and your vote. They will use the money to start a war with Iran. Many more Americans will be killed and the debt will increase since they like to borrow and spend while they cut taxes for their friends. Mitt has already talked about a war with Iran. This is no pro-life party.

There's a viable solution to the abortion debate, or, at least a measure to ensure real progress resulting in drastic reduction, if not complete eradication of abortions.
Both sides of the abortion issue have been posturing over who is right or wrong about what constitutes life. Fertilization? A heartbeat?
I suggest we are asking the wrong question.
If we, as a Christian community, feel as driven as we like to think we are about protecting life, we need to abort silly notions of blaming others for abortions, and start cleaning our own houses. Until we address the naive assumption that with faith comes superhuman capacity to stop having sex but to procreate, and only within the perimeters of holy matrimony, we overlook the reality that the human condition is not a static one.
The right questions to ask are:
    1. Why are there so many unwanted pregnancies, generally?
Make a list privately, of all the reasons that you think/know this happens. And be honest.

    2. Why are there so many unwanted pregnancies within our Church?
Make a list privately, of all the reasons, again. Honesty is key.

    3. For every reason given for causation of unwanted pregnancy, come up with a possible solution (even if it's a little out there. Brain-storm, if you will.)

God has given us the capacity to not only procreate, but to reason together. Perhaps if we prayerfully commune with Him, and ourselves, and each other, we will find that this thing runs far deeper than a Republican/Democrat, Christian/Heathen thing.

Let us get serious here folks.
We have those who are adamant about correcting the problem right now with the immediate reversal of Roe vs. Wade by people of good will on the grounds abortion is always and in every case wrong. That is quite possible. All it would take is for Jesus himself to step forth put his foot down and says it is so. Anyone think that is going to happen now or during the next congress? Then there are those with little real concern about what is happening to our society as long as they are not personally affected so they will go along with whatever the law permits. Somewhere in the middle of the discussion are those who are seriously concerned with what is and has happened to our society over the last half century and want to turn the tide of debauchery awash in our nation as a result of power hungry civil authorities, in order to please their various constituency and garner favor and votes enough to remain in control of the majority, in defiance of moral and natural law been so arrogant as to grant rights and privileges to certain groups and activists whose lifestyles are constrained by these eternal sanctions. Our imperfect but hollowed nation by the grace of God was founded on these laws and over the years was tested in the fires of truth and justice becoming the greatest of them all, a garden of freedom and liberty for the world. This, by nature of our fallen condition, only served as the most favorable target for the Deceiver, again. It took time and a devious slow erosion of our Judeo- Christian values to establish the Culture of Death and it is going to take time for people of good will to civilly deconstruct its house of horrors seeking dominion of our society. Unfortunately there are even among us some who would, as Peter, be willing to take up the sword in defense of truth but that is against all we stand for as Catholics. We must, with charity and trust in Divine Providence, fight the good fight one battle at a time to FIRST win the hearts and minds of men with the truth of scripture and right reason using the proven wisdom of the Church of Christ and her teaching to enable them to see the sheer evil within selfish desires of the flesh and the path of destruction it leads to when we reject the Word of God. This is the root of the problem. Real change and the cleansing of the society will come within our system only when a majority see the light of truth and embrace Life from its beginning. Hopefully we can use this election to take the first steps toward install legislators who can and will promise to hear our voices and help begin our journey out of the wilderness. Pray and vote for a CHANGE of heart for Americans to bring HOPE for our children, born and unborn.

Please watch this video from Loretto House in Denton Texas. It is a pregnancy help center jus off of the North Texas University campus. Human rights should take priority over all else such as animal rights, and especially ABORTION RIGHTS. Who saw the movie Logan's Run? The filmmaker was a prophet.

After listening to the talks I have in the last couple of days, I'm pretty confident that these exceptions will keep abortion alive and well for years to come. Like many things, there can be no middle road. To ccs's post, the GOP is trying to play both sides of the fence. They are dressing it up real nice, but at the end of the day if you allow exceptions, then you are never going to create a circumstance where abortion cannot be provided. Someone has to be around to perform the abortions for these exceptions. Steps in right direction really result in nothing as we have been doing that for 40 years. And the federal guys failure to do anything on this front will eventually erase all the gains made by the states.

You know I understand the responsibility of a voter as it pertains to life. But what good is it if the guys in DC will never do anything. Are we ever going to hold them accountable? If we don't, then I'm sorry folks, both abortion and planned parenthood are here to stay. They are counting on us being all talk and no action.

We hear your call for saintly doctrinal perfection in your politicians but we need to remind you that the opposition to the party currently intrinsically enthroned with the Culture of Death has as its candidates Mitt and Paul not PETER and PAUL. So are you telling us we don't have a choice?? Compared to Nancy Pelosi or Kathleen Sebelius these gentlemen are saints, or have you decided there is no difference?

GW, why don't you just cut to the chase and tell us to join you this November to vote for Obama and the Party of Death.

Ryan finally did speak and did indicate that he still PERSONALLY opposes abortion in instances of rape, but he also said this: "Look I'm proud of my record....I'm proud of my record. Mitt Romney is going to be president and the president sets policy. His policy is exceptions for rape, incest and life of the mother. I'm comfortable with it because it's a good step in the right direction." Ryan is COMFORTABLE with Romney's policy of allowing children to be killed whose only crime is that they had a rapist for a father. I'm not saying that nobody can vote for this ticket. But let's stop with the claims that Romney is Pro-Life. He's not. And let's stop with the claims that the Republican ticket does not support any intrinsic evils. It does… and this is not a prudential matter. The primary difference is that the Republican ticket supports a net fewer intrinsic evils than the Democratic ticket does. But personally, I cannot respect a Catholic politician who passes the buck on intrinsic evil with the cavalier statement that "the president sets policy." Ryan is not going to hold Romney's feet to the fire. He is going to go along with Romney, when he should be getting off that ticket as fast as he can in order to preserve his integrity as a Catholic.

Ben, You need not use (in California) as a means of identity it is obvious by your admiration and near worship of environmental protection, the affordable healthcare act, safety net for vulnerable citizens. By the way is your city on the brink of bankruptcy like so many others out there? These are things the nation and government have addressed for years with trillions of dollars often wasted by bureaucrats and mismanagement. American Healthcare, the very best in the world only became more expensive as the government intruded with controls but of course less tort reform as prescribed by the trial lawyer lobby. The liberals, like those running your state, are bound by their Creed and Legislative Religion to expand government through taxation in the name of their brand of charity. They have been able to turn a legitimate political party into a cult of corruption founded on failed socialist ideals of the past dressed as benevolent care for the masses. So deceiving with the lure of Utopian promises that even men and women (like your Nancy Pelosi) have abandon the doctrines of their childhood faith to worship at the altar of Culture of Death with their version of social justice and equal rights. This is the truth and you need to at least try to grasp it. Republicans with the remnants of Christian values still left undefiled in America are not angels but they are the only thing left standing at this critical time to halt the hate in the hearts of those opposed to these values.
