We Applaud the Republican Platform: No 'Abortion Rights', Only a Right to Life Comments
The language of the Republican Platform is refreshingly clear: "Faithful to the 'self-evident' truths enshrined in the Declaration of Independence, we assert the sanctity of human life and affirm that the unborn child has a fundamental individual right to life which cannot be infringed. We support a human life amendment to the Constitution and endorse legislation to make clear that the Fourteenth Amendment's protections apply to unborn children." Continue Reading

I'm not a Democrat.
I'm not a Republican.
I'm AWAKE.
And the rest of Catholicism better wake up to the harsh reality that NEITHER of these candidates that's been thrust on us is really good for us.
This election is a wash. For Catholics, Christians and conservatives, it's a total LOSS, no matter WHO wins.
We need to start pushing hard and demanding real Christian representation in 2016.
Just adding my two cents related to the article philosophically speaking...very good articles here:

Rob: You are forgetting, it was the Hillary Clinton people that started the whole garbage about Obama's citizenship in the first place. Why should the GOP even touch it? Even, if it's true, what would be the point? "It's the economy, stupid" so it is said. I read somewhere, (can't remember where), that his birthplace will be before the Supreme Court. Unfortunately, not before the election. I have to do more research on it. But as Vance said, Obama DID get into college as a foreign exchange student. ON OUR DIME, by the way. God bless.
Vance: I think you meant "2016." I encourage everyone to go see that movie/documentary when it gets to a theatre near you. If you really want to know what Obama plans to do with America and what he has already done and what he is all about, go see this movie. Talk about a wake up call. If it doesn't make you angry as hell, check your pulse. Libs will hate it because they don't want to hear anything negative about Obama. Conservatives will probably say, "See, I told you so." Thanks for all your posts, Vance. We usually are in agreement. I think the only thing, so far, that we disagreed on was Cardinal Dolan's invite to the Al Smith Dinner. But let's not get into that again. Okay? God bless.
this really good for me and i enjoy it to help me more pls send some advice over from time to time ,,i love this site so much because u hav touched my life in diffrent way tnx alot...
Vance, because I deal in state tax policy I am aware of these things. But in all the states that are improving, most of them were heavy beneficiaries of stimulus dollars. And how much of the umemployment decreases are due to general recovery and how much are due to actual policies?
Given how committed to Obama's failure the GOP has been, do you not believe that if there were any truth to any of this birther nonsense that it wouldn't have been exploited? Maybe not as they don't really want to do good for the country, just score more seats right?
Rob, Just go the the political maps where there are GOP Governors. You can get Dept of Labor stats on unemployment on these states. The only GOP Gov that is struggling is Nevada, Harry Reid's state. The Dept of Commerce stats will give you a picture of how each state's economy is doing, The IRS has stats that will give you a picture of revenue collections and expenditures. You can get the breakdown by state. Then you can open your mind and ears to pay attention to the current daily business reports. Yes, I think it is a fair deal if Obama will open up his personal records ie, his college transcripts and his passport records. Why was he a Foreign Exchange Student if he is from Hawaii? You can have all Romney's Tax Records. Denesh DeSoza's 2018 is a great eye opener.
Deacon Keith: Bravo! You called it exactly like it is. Words can wield the power of the sword, and you did a fine job explaining it to me and CO readers. It is certainly frustrating when people use words to overpower us, turn something that is black and white, such as abortion into shades of gray, or better yet, something that is black into pure white, by the mere usage of words. Your last paragraph summed it up nicely. God Be With You...

"@ Bill Sr.:
To suggest that a simple yes/no is adequate is on par with having one's fingernails pulled out, and saying, 'this won't hurt a bit.' preposterous." Slow down friend!!! You are barking up the wrong tree. Trying to make anyone who does not follow your rantings feel like an idiot won't establish you as an authority on any subject.
There is nothing clearer to our conscience behavior than a "yes" or "no" to our choices on our journey through life. That's how we avoid getting side tracked with theories and accepting the need for diverse opinions muddling our minds.
vance, can you please provide a listing of these states with stats to back up your assertions? And of the states you list, please include their use of stimulus dollars. You do realize that almost all of the states are required to balance their budgets as part of their state constitutions? Our state has a surplus because we have high extraction taxes. So gas prices go up, so does our tax revenue. It has nothing to do with a GOP governor, althought I will admit she is doing a good job. After our last governor, she is a breath of fresh air.
I have a great idea. We can compel Obama to produce his college tranascripts so long as Romney produces his tax returns. I think that sounds fair, don't you?
