Cardinal Dolan's Response to the Al Smith Dinner Reaction Calls for Change Comments

The approach in the words and tenor of some of the articles, blog posts and commentaries on the Al Smith Dinner reflected a phenomenon I have referred to in the past as the "Catholic circular firing squad". It is too often present in this age of blogs, apps, social media and instant access to media. Some Catholics seem intent on figuratively shooting at other Catholics with hurtful words while the new Rome of a decaying Western culture burns ... Continue Reading

I'll say it again vance, they pass bills they no will go nowhere. And when they had the opportunity to do something, they did not. All political commericals and nothing more.

I do believe that there is a way they couldn't have passed legislation. Give up a little on revenue, would have sailed right through. Sorry vance, but I don't buy it all. They just aren't willing to put everything on the line to get it done.

JoAnn, Prime Post! Perfect factual quotes, with a marvelous summary! Me thinks if people can not See, or begin to start Thinking of our country by now, See and/or Hear what is going on in other parts of the world, as related to EU countries and others: our indebtedness to China, etc., then I say frustratingly to myself: "Give me a break"! Then I think that God, in His Infinite Wisdom, with more Intelligence and Compassion and Love, must have understood from where my mind is coming. And I think of Today's First Reading in Cor. WE are all so puny! I Hope I am past the water stage! Oh my, so many of us our under-nourished! All the way around! May we all pray for one another, to grow with and In His Nourishment. Pray that we are not so self-absorbed that we leave the Church and Her Teachings. And for those who are Apostates, that they may make a speedy recover, and return to the Only One who Truly Loves and Cares for them. 'O Little Ones, Harken To His Voice. Blessings...

Rob, "the GOP passes bills that they know Harry Reid and the Party of Death will block" So, let me understand. You are throwing stones at the GOP for passing anti-Abortion, Pro-Marriage, anti-HHS Mandate, Medicare Reform, and fiscal responsibility. Dirty Harry Reid, your hero, is blocking what this country and church needs and you are throwing stones at the GOP. This reminds me who side your on. Dirty Harry Reid would be proud of you being a faithful member of the Party of Death and Deceit.

Rob: No, Rob. He is not the "messiah." Although, his party thinks he is. Because of a "hot mike," part of a conversation HENRY KISSINGER was having with DAVID ROCKEFELLER regarding Obama was picked up. I actually saw Kissinger talking to Rockefeller on TV at some kind of meeting. I don't know how long ago this meeting was, but it had to be when Obama had already entered the scene. Maybe KISSINGER and ROCKEFELLER, in a way, have told us who Obama is. Quote: "Obama can give new impetus to American foreign policy, partly because the reception of him is so extraordinary around the world. I think HIS TASK WILL BE to develop an overall strategy for America in this period, when really a NEW WORLD ORDER can be created. It's a great opportunity. It isn't such a crisis, it's really an opportunity." Hmmm. Who is Obama? Here is another quote given to America by George H. W. Bush, Sr. when the Iron Curtain and the Berlin Wall came down. "We have before us, the opportunity to forge for ourselves and for future generations, a NEW WORLD ORDER. A world where the rule of law, not the law of the jungle, GOVERNS THE CONDUCT OF NATIONS. When we are successful, AND WE WILL BE, we have a real chance at this NEW WORLD ORDER. An order, in which a credible UNITED NATIONS can use its peace keeping role to fulfill the promise and vision of the UNITED NATIONS's founders." See, Rob, this election is not a battle between red and blue. There is much more at stake. It is senseless to argue about the qualifications of the candidates and their flaws. We are fighting for the SOUL OF AMERICA. Do you want Obama to usher us into the NEW WORLD ORDER, or do we give Romney a chance to maybe, just maybe, buy us enough time to repent and get back to God. This NEW WORLD ORDER is inevitable sometime in our future, but maybe if God sees that we are coming around, He will give us a reprieve and stay His Hand for a while. If we are foolish enough to re-elect Obama, we get what we deserve. David Rockefeller said "This present window of opportunity during which a truly peaceful and interdependent WORLD ORDER might be built. will not be open for too long. We are on the verge of a GLOBAL TRANSFORMATION. All we need is the RIGHT MAJOR CRISIS and the nations will accept the NEW WORLD ORDER." Could that crisis be an economic crisis, a war, what? Think about it. Everybody, think about it. God bless.

And yet vance, all the evil remains. They pass bills they know have absolutely no chance of passing, not because they are serious about the legislation, but from their weakened position they know they can't govern, so they pass bills that are nothing more than campaign commercials and bear no semblance to what they actually do when they have power. Otherwise abortion would have been gone a long time ago. When they had the opportunity to stand their ground on planned parenthood funding they either chose their jobs or were not really willing to go the distance on this issue anyway. So either they are just lousy politicians, the dems have all the power (wouldn't know that from the gridlock in DC) or they just don't care about these issues we fight back for forth on to begin with.

I sometimes think vance that you believed Obama was the messiah because somehow in three years he was supposed to clean up the great depression the GOP handed him. Not sure I see anything different coming from them either.

Here is a flaw: If Cardinal John O'Connor back in 1996 did not invite Bill Clinton to the Al Smith dinner and Cardinal Egan did not invite John Kerry to the Al Smith dinner in 2004, because both of them supported abortion. Then why, WHY is Cardinal Timothy Dolan inviting this man who is in love with abortion!? There is such division in the Catholic Church that even among us faithful Catholics there is division. Cardinal Timothy Dolan in an interview with National Review even put Bill Clinton and Ryan Paul as equally good Catholics. Bill Clinton… a good Catholic!? If Cardinal Timothy Dolan is a good shepherd then why is he letting his sheep be devoured by the wolves.

We will pray for VDH Karl.
He has nothing positive to say, but we will pray for his conversion of heart.
    Recognize goodness, Karl.
