Richard and Disinfo - How dare you bring up such facts as the law has been on the Oregon books for more than 30 years??? How can an article like this feed false fear into people if you bring up such useful things as facts? Everyone knows that because Obamacare makes this procedure free, that 16-year-old girls and boys are going to flock to have this done before the start of school, and by the end of this decade, everyone 25 and under will be sterile.
Although, perhaps that will cut down on the number of abortions being performed. So maybe a sterile state is a good thing.
Has anyone considered that the part of the brain that governs judgment, the frontal lobe, is not fully developed in the human person until they are in their twenties? How can 15-year-olds make a mature decision regarding their future choices of childbearing?
It is actually the last days my brothers and sisters we must keep watch.Let remind us catholics that even though conventional science has convinced us that the chicken egg hatch chiken,we must not fail to ask ourselves some reasonable questions like between the chiken and the egg,who came first? Fear God,and the highest form of it is to respect him and his creatures.
So wait a second, there are States that have allowed minors to opt in to sterlization without their parents' consent for something like 30 years, and this is suddenly the fault of Obamacare because it prevents insurance companies from squiggling out of paying for the procedure?
Way to disinform.
Just to be clear, this law has absolutely nothing to do with Obamacare. It is a state law in Oregon for a procedure that can happen under some very specific circumstances that Obamacare makes free.

And it also seems that this could only happen in cases where an individual is unable to give informed consent and a court determines that sterilization is in the best interest of the individual.

Child Sterilization, this is only a small part of what the Party of Death promises to deliver. All Catholics have a duty to Vote Out Obama and the Party of Death. Many detractors will try to deceive you with "Both Parties are the same". Just look at both Party Platforms. They are a 180 degrees apart. The GOP just declared the Child in the womb a "Human Being" with God given Rights to Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness. The Party of Death declares the Child in the womb a "Non-Person" with No Rights to Live. Catholics unite to Vote Out Obama and the Party of Death.

Everyone should check out ORS 436.225 before making a decision about this article. It reads:
"(3) Whenever any physician has reason to believe an individual 15 years of age or older is unable to give informed consent, no sterilization shall be performed until it is determined by a circuit court that the individual involved is able to and has given informed consent. Whenever the court determines, under the provisions of this chapter, that a person lacks the ability to give informed consent, the court shall permit sterilization only if the person is 18 years of age or older and only upon showing that such operation, treatment or procedure is in the best interest of the individual."
This is a case of working limited government. It is not the job of the federal government to regulate this kind of thing, but rather the state, and the state has take care of its responsibility. No worries!
