Obamacare Begins Child Sterilization, Without Parental Consent Comments

With back-to-school season in full swing across the nation, parents in Oregon have more to worry about than shopping for sweaters and purchasing pencils. In the state of Oregon, the Obamacare mandate, which went into effect on August 1, 2012, provides free sterilizations to girls as young as fifteen. Now, your daughter, your high school freshman, can choose, without your consent, to be permanently sterilized. Continue Reading

The problem is not so much with Obamacare as it is with forms of extreme individualism and anti-statism in Oregon. Oregon also permits voluntary active euthanasia on moral grounds of preserving patient autonomy and this existed long before Obamacare. The coverage that Obamacare offers is perverted when under state laws like those of Oregon.

Doesn't anyone else see the contradiction here: if you are for small government and private health care consistent with the extreme right mantra that little government is better than big government (in order to keep government out of our lives) then why not take it to the extreme the way that Oregon has by construing that even minors have the capacity to make autonomous decisions about sterilization as to preserve autonomy.

Let's not throw the baby out with the bath water on Obamacare folks. Remember the poor and oppressed that will benefit, and focus on criticizing those that pervert Obamacare with with their extremism.

I never realized how evil Obamacare is until I read your article. We all need to invoke God's help with Mary's intersession. More rosaries, frequent confessions, and daily reception of Holy Communion spiritually are needed to draw down God's graces. Truly, Nov 6, 2012 will be the most important election in our lifetime.

At 15, what child knows for certain what they will want at 25, 35 or beyond? I know several women who adamantly did not want children only to open their hearts to God's will in their 30s. If they had made the choice to sterilize themselves at an earlier age, imagine the heartache and pain they would go through later in life? Sterilization is an evil that has no place in healthcare, ever.
