Obama at Iftar Dinner: Of All Rights We Hold Sacred - Freedom of Religion Comments
President Barack Obama-whose administration is being sued by multiple Catholic dioceses, universities, charities and family-owned businesses for violating their First Amendment right to the free exercise of religion-told a group of Muslims dining at the White House on Friday that freedom of religion is "foremost" among the God-given rights of man and that he intends to defend it both within the United States and abroad. As a wise congressman once shouted, "liar!". If his lips are moving, then Obama most certainly is.
President Obama praising the freedom of religion? Where's the laugh track?
Wow. You have to really be careful listening to this guy weave his words. He redefines the constitutional keeping government of religion as freedom to worship. That's limiting.
But wait, there's more.
As he undermines the free religious expression the the USA, he fails to enforce or even attempt to act upon the suppression of religious freedom in other countries. It's as if to understand this man, you look at the opposite of what he says. Or perhaps he speaks with a forked tongue - that was always my grandma's way of describing a deceptive person.
Well it's nice to know that Obama will defend muslims and Islam in America. Sounds like he's willing to stand up for their right of religious beliefs. How about Christains and Christianity?Muslims have murdered and persecuted our Christain brothers and sisters in Islamic countries for years, but not a "peep" from Obama about it.
I hope that Americans will see the duplicity in Obama's rhetorics. Religious liberty is not just freedom of worship. That freedom cannot be confined in the four walls of places of worship. Religious freedom is more encompassing. It includes among others the freedom to practice our beliefs in our every day life, freedom of conscience - the right to do what we believe is right or refuse to do something that is morally against our Christian beliefs even if it means that we will be violating legal man-made laws holding the truth that there are God-given moral laws that prevail over all man-made laws.
Just a reminder...sterilization, contraception, and abortifacients are not only against the teachings of Christ and the Catholic Church, but they are also against the natural law which is inscribed in the heart of every man. To use such devices or to engage in such practices is mortally sinful and may well send countless souls to hell. The bishops tell us that this issue is all about religious liberty. But in the end, it is about the Divine and natural moral law. Our bishops must condemn the immoral practices as being against the Ten Commandments and not worry so much about the Bill of Rights and religious liberty.
I would like to see the Historical evidence Obama uses to claim Jefferson held the first Iftar Dinner in the White House ...it is just a guess at best, but no evidence that is what he intended! So not only does he speak with hypocrisy about freedom of ALL religions, he is making up history!
