Catholics for Romney Leadership Team Formed: Six Former Vatican Ambassadors Lead the Effort Comments

We are all called to advance the moral teachings of Christianity in the life of our country. Where the stakes are highest - in the defense of life, liberty, and human dignity - we have a duty to act that is greater and more urgent than allegiance to any political party. In the election of 2012, this conviction has united all of us - each a former ambassador of the United States to the Holy See - in support of Governor Mitt Romney's candidacy for ... Tom McGuire- As both JPII and Bl. Mother Teresa said" The unborn are the poorest of the poor". Yet you bypass them in your "preferential option for the poor". I've noticed this trick every time someone like yourself wants to vote for a baby murdering politician like Obama. Your words don't fool anybody anymore. You need to get your head out of the deep sands of denial. Go to a prolife website and read the facts about your aggressive pro death politician Obama&co. Also you're going to have to learn how to fight for life. There is no utopia or never, never land for those who are in such massive denial. Romney will defend and write legislation promoting life for innocent children, true marriage defense and religious freedom. That will help to create a society wherein the poor can better able help themselves.

Ben: We are NOT GOP Catholics. We are religious freedom Catholics who don't want anyone telling us how we should practice our Faith. Or telling us how we should think and what we should do. We are conservatives Catholics that want our country and our constitution back. Needless to say, the Democrats are going in the wrong direction. We are Catholics who don't want to live in a communist nation. AND we are Catholics that won't take any shenanigans from the GOP either. So get educated before you start throwing untruths around. Wake up! God bless.

Personally, what little is left of our country's financial standing will be complete destroyed if we have another round of GOP control. I just can't wait to see what more Wall Street deregulation accomplishes. But that being said, we can't ignore what Obama is doing in regards to marriage and the church. I think since day one our politicians have absolutely refused to work with Obama. Maybe a change is needed so we can salvage something. Who knows, another round of wall street malfeaseance may at least prop up the job numbers for awhile before the economy caves completely in.

I don't trust Mitt at all. Personally I think the guy will say and do anything to get elected and he's been all over every issue....the man has no core. But unfortunately Obama is not really giving us any other option.

Patrick, do you honestly believe there will be no dead children if Romney wins? They are very abortion tolerant.

How can the GOP attempt to claim the mantle of "pro-life" when there policies directly lead to the destruction of our nation's ecosystems, better known as God's Creation? We rely on our ecosystems for survival, yet we willingly destroy them. That is suicide, no matter how unintentional, and that goes against God's will.

Why virulently fight for the rights of the unborn to live when your party's actions severely degrade the natural world they will be forced to cope with?

For those on the Right, the hyper-individualistic, anti-community, pro-libertarian anarchy stances of the modern Republican Party are at stark odds with the essentially collective action nature of the Catholic faith, as handed down by Christ. For protecting God's magnificent and mysterious Creation, we are told that man was put in the Garden to "till and tend" it, not destroy it. "Dominion" does not equal "destruction, yet the GOP is the party of extreme environmental degradation.

For those on the Left, the robust defense of abortion violates the pro-life message of God and the Church. Destruction of innocent life is never progressive.

Harold, if Obama can evolve from being opposed to same sex marriage to favor it why can't Romney change his mind about Romneycare? These are the only two guys in the race. Participate. Since Romney promised to eliminate Obamacare as his first act as President I think he's worthy. You have to consider the fact that Romney's record does not include blocking laws that would have stopped infanticides being done in his state, yet Obama's record does.

Franciscus, The catastrophe in Romney's tour was that it is not reported as it happened by liberal media. How would it be if he bowed to a few leaders and said what a lousy country this is? Wouldn't that make us proud?

Honestly, the six former ambassadors ought to have some knowledge of the better of the two. Certainly they stay informed. They aren't divided. You'd think they would be if both men were similar in how they look at foreign affairs.

Harold Olsen: You are SO misinformed it isn't funny. "It's better to keep your mouth shut and let people think that you are stupid than to open it and confirm what they think." Me thinks you need to do more research on Romney care and stop believing the propaganda coming out of this communist administration. Knowledge is power. Get some. God bless.

If you care about religious freedom, if you believe in the right to life, if you acknowledge the sanctity of marriage, then recognize that Obama is our greatest enemy and DO SOMETHING! Vote Obama out of office by voting for Romney. Shame on anyone who sits idly by while our country is being destroyed.

How does Romney answer the challenge of James S. Henry's study that reports there are $32 trillion in financial assets hidden in offshore tax havens?
In Verbum Domini, Pope Benedict XVI wrote: "The Church cannot let the poor down: "Pastors are called to listen to them, to learn from them, to guide them in their faith and to encourage them to take responsibility for lives." Does Romney help to accomplish this mandate?
In the Compendium of Catholic Social Doctrine #172 we read: "The universal right to use the goods of the earth is based on the principle of the universal destination of goods. Each person must have access to the level of well-being necessary for his full development. The right to the common use of goods is the "first principle of the whole ethical and social order". Does Romney's political views include this first principle?

In my opinion Romney does not represent the the common good for all people, especially the poor (Preferential Option for the Poor). I cannot vote for him!

Fransiscus, what was the catastrophe? Was it calling Jerusalem the capital of Israel? Was it telling the truth and questioning whether England was prepared for the Olympics? Was it the fact that someone in his organization demanded respect for a Polish memorial?
And Harold, whether you realize it or not, you are voting for Obama.
