UPDATED: Temporary Injunction Granted! Dept. of Justice to Colorado Family: Give Up Your Religion or Your Business Comments

While much of the media attention on Sebelius' regulation has focused on the fact that it will apply to famous Catholic religious institutions such as Catholic University and the University of Notre Dame, the Catholic bishops have repeatedly pointed out that the regulation also violates the First Amendment-protected religious liberty of lay Catholic individuals. That includes employees who will be forced to pay insurance premiums on insurance ... Continue Reading

Vote out this admin. and all the democrats in the Senate. Vote for conservatives and repeal this tax which is being used to destroy the morality of the nation. Americans are already so demoralized, it's sad. This is the fruit of materialism, envy and jealousy. Too many Catholic couples are using contraception and receiving the Eucharist. That is a sacrilege. Priests, address this from the pulpit. They know it is against Church Law, they don't care.Remind them of the consequences, which are eternal. Christ said" I did not come to destroy the Law, I came to fulfill it". That is the 10 Commandments and the natural law. He also said" If you love Me do what I say." God speaks through the doctrines and traditions of the Church. Also, do the right thing when you vote; Vote only for politicians who are prolife, pro marriage, pro religious freedom. First, purify yourselves if you are using contraception. What good is it to save the world and lose your own soul. And yes, by your hypocrisy you are losing your soul.

This discussion and the posts remind me of the 40 days that Jesus spent in the desert. First he was tempted to "turn the stones to bread" and he did not. Then, he was tempted to "throw himself from the parapet of the temple" and he did not. Then, he was tempted with all the kingdoms of the world" and he refused them. Before he could minister in Galilee and enter Jerusalem, he first walked to the world's margins. In the desert, he learned to pray. He did not succumb to the demons of despair, doubt, or domination. He prayed in solitude. He prayed and stood firm. It was only then that God sent his angels to minister to him. We, as I see it, are now in the desert. We should not now fall to despair or doubt or give in to the temptation to conquer the world. Only once we've passed through the desert will our Heavenly Father send his angels to minister to us! As for the poster who stated that there are not many young families in the church...............my family is there. Perhaps now is the time that God has chosen to separate the wheat from the chaff. We may not be as many, but we are there in all sincerity and humble worship. We are a small group, but we are mighty in our faith and love for Christ!

This is as much a fruit of the Church's approval of the secular promoters of wealth redistribution by force instead of aligning itself with those who promote maximum freedom in all areas, not just that of religion, as it is anything else, By approving government as the arbiter of some perverted form of "social justice" the church only helped feed the beast which now wants to define virtually every area of citizen existence.

Robert Burford, I Hope readers will listen well to your post. You have laid out responsibility and accountability quite accurately. I am surprised some adult Catholics are so misinformed of ones' personal duties. Perhaps the One-Minute Manager can lend a helping hand? I agree also with you, on the length of time to vote in a new president. England is right on this particular matter. I also agree, (I think I've said it before), that we have no choices either. My conscience: I am first Catholic; then American citizen=My duty to vote for God and country. One party is Pro-Abortion, etc.=I cannot vote for said party. Party #2=Pro-Life=No Brainer.I will vote for Romney, perfect or not. Third, and Other parties, are not acceptable to my conscience=they stand a Big Chance of going to Obama=Pro-Abortion, and I personally, could Not live with myself and have a Clear conscience. Thank you again Robert, for your post. Sunday Blessings...
    Blessings...

Now this company has a target on its back like Chick-fil-A. I wonder if the mayor will decide that he doesn't want them in his city because they are not representative of the city's values, ala Rahm Emmanuel.

Not much I can add to what has already been said. We reap what we sow is it in a nutshell. This has become a country in which people have been led to think that they are intitled to things for which they did not labor and that they had no responsibility for their actions if they interferred with their "life, liberty and pursuit of happiness". Hogwash. Yes, many cafetaria catholics have brought the reputation of the church down, but Jesus said the gates of hell will not prevail against it and I believe Him.
