Fr. Johannes Jacobse: The Republic is Finished and the America We Knew is Gone Comments

With the decision that Obamacare will stand as the law of the land means that America - home of the brave, land of the free - is no more. This great country, the one to whom all great refugee movements of the world for over two centuries saw as the light to escape poverty, political bondage, and hopelessness now turns its back on that legacy of freedom for what will, in a very short time, amount a bowl of pottage. The turn to tyranny won't ... Continue Reading

    Sister Jacqueline, the only thing that we've learned from this administration is that racism exists in the Black community, possibly more so than the White community. Everything he's done, obama, and his administration points to this, from his early association with Frank Marshall Davis, his first communist mentor to Benjamin Wright, his Christian (not really) pastor. In his administration he placed Van Jones, another commie, who was deposed, because of his radical beliefs. And, we have his Attorney General, Eric Holder, who won't prosecute Blacks, as evidenced by the Black Panther voter intimidation, for crimes. So all in all, our only hope is that the Republicans win the Presidency, Senate and keep the House in November.

    Bravo ! Great article! What some "missed" or "did not take into consideration," was that Father said, paraphrased: "...this will not take place will take at least a generation=20 years...and that it might not possibly happen if, and it is a big if, the Republicans take full control of the government". So, yes. America will be somewhat the same in ten years...but on the road to Obama's (promised change) nonetheless. And yes, in case you you haven't noticed, our Republic has been dying for a while now. If you are young readers, or children growing up, you are living in a real life Star Trek are being assimilated. The young or indifferent join w/o struggle. It is the older, wiser, experienced seers, or Faith based believers who lived in the Old Republic, like Old Ben, who remembers the old ways, (The Force). Which to us, is was our Republic and our Triune God. I wrote this as short as possible to get this message across. Do you understand what I am saying? without the intent of putting anyone down, or raising anyone up? If I raise anyone up it is Old Ben in his priestly robe. And if you have not read Nietzsche or Dotoevsky as our author suggested, I second his opinion.

    I see that comments must remain "on-topic" so I do not know if my comment will remain or even be posted to begin with. I am a Catholic and came here to to read about the Nuns on the Bus and Sister Simone Campbell. I did a search and found no articles or columns whatsoever in this website. This is quite dismaying that I cannot find anything on this topic in

    Sister Jacqueline, you are so right on so many point. If those of us, who have faith, continue to fight for this country, by prayer, then we can overcome the forces that we face today.

    The Bible reveals it very clearly- "END TIME BABYLON" engulfed in the Pagan spirit through the beliefs that which is on the other side of Jordan, that which was on the other side of the flood.

    The America that I know it's not gone. We have to understand, we are a God Fearing country and we do our best to hold to the morals that represent a country that has faith. What America is facing is Communism and what that politic brought for us as Americans, discrimination and racism to a point that, with one stroke of a pin, everything changed. We must not lose hope because, Hope is looking foward to a brighter future. It can change and we as a country, must never forget, some of the trials that we have been through. WW1, WW2, Korean War, World Trade, The Great Depression in the 30's, the Civil War that brought this country together as One Nation Under God. And all of it, we came through, stronger and more aware of what we should and should not do. We have always been a Nation that stands up for what is right and we will do it again but, we will have learned from this Administration. We are very Strong and we will not be over come by unkindness and hate. We got up from some of the worst situations we have ever been in as a Nation, we will rise from this too.

    Liberty and personal responsibility lost. The only you thing you and your irk have done is to make this country weaker. Congrats, if that was your goal.

    I agree with every word of his article.

    @Juvenaly Repass:
    For those "Catholics" that think government control (socialism) is so great, you are terribly mistaken. Government hand-outs are never the answer. For a secular progressive (i.e. Democrat, yes, just admit it), it's all about controlling people's lives. Socialism is a false promise and ultimately leads to the enslavement. No real Catholic would ever support the horribly named Affordable Care Act "Obamacare".

    "Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery." - Winston Churchill.

    This was a terrible week for the United States.

    What a "Wow!" Comment: "No one is in dire straights... We live in a secular state....We are free to do whatever we want" ??? We certainly are not "free to do whatever we want!" We are governed by all kinds of civil laws! Moreover, for over 200 years, "we the people" have upheld the Declaration of Independence" with those "self evident truths" ("truths" that do not change over time--whether we believe it or not) that it acknowledges and the US Constitution. Yes, there are those who want the 10 Commandments abolished--so we "can do whatever we want." But, to the extent that we "do whatever we want," if it is contrary to the Natural Law (10 Commandments), we will, indeed, find ourselves "in dire straits"--for that very reason. Yes, we are moving toward a "secular state"--we're not officially quite there and there is still "time" to pull back....If we don't, we will disappear as "One Nation under God..., " and we will not survive--no doubt about it!
