The President Who Opposes the Right to Life Admits to ABC News He Opposes Marriage Comments

The main stream media is abuzz over the acknowledgement by President Barack Obama in an interview with ABC News that he no longer supports marriage as between one man and one woman. Homosexual Equivalency activists want us to hail the Presidents "evolution" as some sort of enlightened act when it is just plain wrong and dangerous for the Nation.  Borrowing a page out of the playbook of the Anti-Right to Life movement they have persuaded the ... I'm grateful for President Obama's actions in getting our forces out of Iraq and keeping them from the civil war in Libya. I'm grateful he approved the action against Osama bin Laden. I think he inherited a major economic mess and has done what he can from letting it fall completely apart.

His stance on gay marriage is a bridge too far.

Regrettably at this time I have no choice but to vote for another candidate sub-standard in intellect, who gained fortune advocating for the movement of American jobs overseas, and who builds elevators in his oceanside estate for his Cadillacs while a good number of Americans struggle to feed their children.

Praying for a candidate better than Mitt to lead this great nation.

Great article. I believe Obama admitted his support for Homosexual Marriage when he publicly declared that he would not enforce the "Protect Marriage Law". I suppose Obama's "I support Same Sex Marriage" made the difference for some. This Pervert-in-Chief is not only anti-Catholic but declares himself an enemy to Christianity. I don't know what more needs to happen to wake and sober some people up. The vast majority of the Bishops and priests are still asleep.

The gov't should get out of the business of recognizing marriage all together. Giving special tax consideration to couples who raise kids together is another matter. No one is entitled to special benefits because they profess some kind of love for each other. That includes childless heterosexual couples. The state has long since abandoned seeing marriage as something to be protected and given special protection. Two gainfully employed, childless people soaking one or the other's employer and the federal gov't for benefits because they like each other? Please, have some kids, then we'll talk.

Finally Obama is doing his own dirty work to kill his own Presidential campaign to make it a bust. He is not waiting until after the campaign as I thought that he might,as He found it comfortable for others, ignorant cafeteria Catholics, puppets like Biden,Pelosi and Sibelius,to do the dirty work for Him. Same sex marriage! No matter what! Even a voting process to reject it in any state voting against SSM is useless because the legal system is mandated to reject the validity of a democratic voting process if it rejects SSM. Bring on Govenor Romney,a Mormon Gentleman and a Great American. He might be a little bit awkward like President Lincoln could be,but I believe that soon to be President Elect Romney,is the right choice, right now for America. He believes in the Democratic process, that it still can work, not a Dictatorship of an arrogant, divisive form of a pseudo- Socialism like Obama does.

Unfortunately, too many Catholics fall into the description in this article. They look upon their faith as something seperate from daily life. The church and Catholics who live their faith day to day should be clear with other Catholics and Christians in general that your faith is not something you put in a box up on a shelf only to take it down 1 hr each week for church. Your faith should be your map everyday that guides how you live and the choices you make....daily.

How do we have so many Catholics in high Democratic office (Nancy Pelosi, Joe Biden, John Kerry and the list goes on) that proclaim themselves Catholic but vote Pro Choice and Pro Marriage. These people have held these positions for years. Yet so many Catholics continue to vote them into office.

If Catholics as a group decided to vote our faith, the Dems would have not choice but to change their positions or lose many elections at every level.

Deacon Keith: Wonderful article! While we have been bombarded w/news of Obama's intelligent "evolution" of same sex marriage, you, besides relaying this message, point out most emphatically what the Church's viewpoint is. Citing Pope Benedict XVI, the Social Doctrine of the Church: "...a lay Catholic's duty..." is for their conscience, i.e., thought and action, "...to be morally coherent...". The following three paragraphs crack the nut shell even further in explanation and clarification, just in case anyone is having any doubts or questions. Still on the fence my board friends? In all humility, I beg you to read it again. Catholics CAN make a difference in this election. Let us DO IT! We have One Savior. His name is Jesus Christ. NOT B. Obama!

    Dear Deacon Fournier,

Just a personal note to say that you are in my prayers. I am often very shaken up by the brazenness of the Enemy's attacks using morally deranged public officials (it's the same here in Canada). May we all stay close to the Lord Jesus and His Holy Catholic Church in these "last days", and may God be with you to give you the courage and strength you need in carrying out your own mission in this battle. Reading Catholic Online means so much to me. Thank you for all you do. In case you aren't familiar with it, another great Pro-Life website is:

Deacon, I hope the following prayer will be a blessing to you...

    A PRAYER FOR ALL BISHOPS
(by Pedro de la Cruz; available through CatholicPrayerCards.org)

Most Glorious God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit,
we pray for our Bishop ________ .
May he and all of the bishops, in union with the
Holy Father, remain steadfast in defending our
Catholic Faith from the errors of relativism and
anti-Christian hostility that deeply pervade our
secular world. May they speak boldly in defense of
religious freedom and oppose with great vigor
those policies and unjust laws which violate the
consciences of the faithful. May our apostolic
shepherds proclaim with a unified and prophetic
voice the truth about the dignity of each human
life, the sanctity of sacramental marriage, the
blessing of life-giving conjugal love, and all issues
that the Church upholds as good. Allow them to
preach with fiery conviction against all forms of
oppression, and may they never be afraid to call
good and evil by their proper names. With
unwavering fidelity and courage, may they imitate
Christ and lay down their lives for their sheep. May
they be faithful to the end like so many holy saints
and martyrs of the Church, who have shepherded
the people of God with crosier in hand.
O Mary, Virgin Mother of our Lord Jesus Christ,
hold all bishops close to your Immaculate Heart!
    Amen.

    Your brother in Christ,

    Clinton

Let us define homosexuality. It is not "attraction," it is "action." It is an act whose only defining characteristic is that it is an extension of the act of self abuse, masturbation. Love is not involved, only a perverse lust. Why should society give that its approbation? No one else, certainly not those who are exclusively heterosexual in the use of their sexual faculties, defines themselves by how they act sexually. And thank you, Keith Fournier, for your courage in continuing to provide a forum that is a beacon of truth.
