David Jones on Why Mitt Romney's Mormonism Does Matter Comments

Ultimately, politics is about winning.  If Republicans continue to lose Presidential elections, elections which they should have won, maybe, just maybe, they will finally wake up.  Let us pray this occurs.  It is time for the Republican establishment to stop giving lip-service to the dignity of the unborn. They must stop endorsing and supporting weak (or nominal) Pro-Life Presidential candidates.  Continue Reading

JoAnn, her conscience will probably be fine because we have no idea what Romney we are going to get in DC. I think you guys need to go back and read everything you had to say about this guy in the past few months. Given his past backing of abortion, his propensity to change his mind, I think folks are not going to have a problem pulling the lever for Obama. But it's still early yet. I guess we'll see.

I am not sure of all the facts about Romney but I am sure what he is not.

I AM SURE of all the facts about Obama and he frightens me. I fear for the future of our country if Obama gets another 4 years.

At the least, I will take a chance on Romney.

From the posts of Chris Golis, Chris, and chris it is quite evident that a sizable portion of the pushback against Mitt Romney is driven by plain and simple anti-Mormon bigotry. Gerald and Sandra Tanner are well-known publishers of anti-Mormon literature, with a scholarship on Mormonism on par with the "For the Sake of the Gospel" document that is FILLED with falsehoods, half-truths, and deliberate mis-understandings about the LDS Church of its doctrines.

I really wonder at why so many people are running so scared about the possibility of Mitt Romney becoming president. How does the fact that Harry Reid or Orrin Hatch are Mormons, or that Steve Young the ex-football player is a Mormon, or that Donny Osmond or David Achuleta are Mormons -- how does any of that strike at the foundations of historical Christianity? By what POSSIBLE stretch of anyone's imagination can we contort ourselves to believe that by simply VOTING FOR A MORMON for a governmental office we are in essence casting our souls across the altar of Satan himself?

    Get a grip, people.

Adline Rose: How are you going to explain to Jesus on judgement day that you let an anti-Christian, anti-American abortionist of the worst kind back in office because you didn't vote in the other candidate who is a million times better than Obama. At least Romney is not a communist, he is pro-life, he appreciates America for the country our Founding Fathers gave us, he will repeal Obamacare, and try and fix the mess the Democratic Socialists have gotten this country in to. Oh, yeah everybody, let's just put the "emperor" back in office. Please, I beg all of you, pray on the matter. Obama is dismantling our country and he's just about finished with it. Give him 4 more years and you will never have to worry about voting for anyone else again. God bless.

May I suggest a book by Rev. William Taylor title A tale of Two Cities, A comparison between the Mormon and the Catholic Religious Experiences. His family reach deep into Mormonism. His ancestors were among the first danish converts lured to New Zion by promises of land; sent by Brigham Young to settle the high, harsh area known as the Bear Lake Country, in southeastern Idaho. Rev. William Taylor is a priest and a convert to Catholicism. For more Information Utah Lighthouse Ministries web site, by Sandra Tanner, she is great-great granddaughter of Brigham Young who is now a convert to Protestent Christianity. Jerald Tanner is great-great grandson of John Tanner well known for his sizable financial contrubutions to Joseph Smith founder of the LDS religion. Jerald Tanner is also a convert to Protestant Christianity.

Now I see why Rich Santorum feels the way he does about Mitt. I do believe that the Republicans are week and unfortunately it looks like another loss in this Presidential election. I know this much and feel better off with Mr Obama in the fact that the U. S. Supreme Court will keep him in check of any present or future mandates he tries to slip under our noses. So with that sayed his HHS Mandate and possibly Obama care hangs in the balance. By the sound of it look like both will be struck down by the Supreme Court and at least I can sleep much better knowing that not all of Mr Obama agenda will survive, at least the bad ones won't.

I would also like to see the Catholic Church take a stronger position regarding elected and appointed officials who are Pro-Abortion and pro-stem cell research and Catholic. Our current Vice President, the House Minority Leader and the Head of the Department of Health and Human Resources. Where is the voice of the church regarding these leaders?

Here's the reality of it all folks. Do you want an AMERICAN in the WH or do you want a Communist? Plain and simple. If Barack Obama is in the WH for another 4 yrs.it will be the end of America as we know it. I already can hardly recognize my country. So, am I going to call all of you on this board friends next year, or will it be "comrades?" Get over your differences and fight for America. Romney wasn't my first choice, but right now, he is my ONLY choice. If all of you want to try and save our country, Romney should be your ONLY choice also. Pray on it. God bless.
