The Courage of Bishop Daniel Jenky: Catholics by Conviction! Comments

One of the silverlinings in the ominous cloud threatening the freedom of the Church in America is the extraordinary way the hostility of the new Caesar has mobilized the faithful. Perhaps even more heartening is the way that this growing and open hostility has elicited such courageous leadership from so many of our shepherds. Most recently that kind of courage was demonstrated by Bishop Daniel Jenky of Peoria, Illinois. Continue Reading

God Bless Bishop Jenky for his effort. The truth hurts when the Anti-Defamation League and IRS are getting involved. We must support Bishop Jenky, 52,000,000 million aborted babies are watching us.

Bravo to and all strongest support of Bishop Daniel Jenky in his scholarly attempt to educate (and wake up) any who are sleeping in his flock. Were it not that public schools, for many decades (since prayer was taken out of the schools) produce a "product" so poor that many students cannot even identify the four Presidents on Mount Rushmore, parishioners would be able to generate some insights on their own. But absent that discernment, this parish in Peoria, and now even a wider net across America, have an opportunity to prayerfully consider just how grave is the state of this nation, as evil history of repression and oppression of The Church in Germany, France and Asia now is taking root in our US laws and spreading like a cancer across this once-great land. How refreshing, how necessary and how courageous that this Man of God, Bishop Daniel Jenky, is willling to stand up for God's Truth in this time of so many lies and deceptions that can only come from the dark side of human nature. Bravo Bishop Daniel Jenky for "standing up for something (THE something crucial - God's Eternal Truth - "and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it") rather than falling for anything (the "gag order mentality" of brutes whose ideas are so poor that they can only repress and oppress opposing opinions.) We need MORE like Bishop Jenky, not less, and especially here in weakened "PC epicenter" Archdiocese of Wash-land. Mari-MD

The Bishop is a fool and in desperate need of reading some history. People use Nazi as a code word, but it really stands for German Christians, including Catholics.

This tirade is one of the reasons my sister is no longer a nun and I decided the priesthood was not for me, we are still practising cathilics, however we practise on our own terms and do not let this type of regretful tirade influence our faith. Gary

What a magnificent proclamation of our Catholic faith! The accuracy of historical fact, the portrayal of the first apostles in their confusion and fear, the encounter with the Risen Lord, and the merciful patience of Our Lord Who literally gives his apostles time to process what they were beholding with their very eyes. Bishop Jenky wisely reminds us of the past attacks on the Catholic Church by political leaders and groups, and he indicates in what forms those same attacks now occur in our society. Bishop Jenky is a fearless shepherd defending his flock, Deo gratias. Bishop Jenky is also showing by example the strength and conviction to proclaim the truth that Christ has ultimately overcome evil. We, however, are in the battle and, with the help of God, will confront the evil attacking us.

What a great article. It is fantastic to have great Bishops like this. They speak the truth in love. They will be mocked by those who think that killing babies in the womb is ok and by those who think that a man can have sex with a man and that be ok. The Truth is either followed or hated. O, and by the way, name calling is so childish. We are adults, let us communicate in a mature manner.
