Obamacare and $1 Abortions: Latest Rule Requires an 'Abortion Surcharge' Comments

Forget all the promises Obama made about not subsidizing abortion; about people not having to pay for abortions if they didn't want to.  Forget all the speeches in which pro-lifers were ridiculed and hollered at for "lying" that Obamacare would fund abortions.  Forget the Executive Order. The latest rule to be finalized regarding Obamacare mandates $1 abortions.  Don't want to pay it?  Too bad.  Continue Reading

Last time I checked, I don't see the "National Board of Realators" as an information source with our tax research service. But as a lobbying group solely interested in doing nothing that prevents a commission, I get why they would peddle something like that. The bishops would be better served focusing on their own flocks versus hobknobbing with Caesar. Vance, I get the feeling that you just don't trust what scripture says clearly about the church. The gates of hell will not prevail. "caesar" has been trying destroy the church since the beginning. Nothing new here. Political granstanding isn't going to turn the tide, but only discipleship will. If our Bishops remain solely focused on Caesar, they will reap what they sew. If they continue to ignore their flocks, they will reap what the sew.

Rob, my info comes from the National Board of Realtors. These are the people in the know. I will check again. My point was that your Dear Marxist Leaders rammed an Amendment to the Constitution down America's throat. This Obamacare Bill is loaded with goodies that would make any tyrant drool. Many of knew from the jump what this was all about. It's a Marxist Power grab deceptively wrapped in a Health Care Mask. You are all for that and I get it. But Cardinal Dolan, to his credit, is not rolling over. Instead, he is in this fight for the long haul. And a fight it promises to be. Your guys loath the Catholic Church and its traditions. Like you, they are not giving up their fight to see its undoing.

vance, while I appreicate the intent of your post, it's just not right. Why let facts get in the way of an opportunity to slam Obama right? Mighty "Saul Alinksky" of you. First of all, the Medicare surtax is 3.8%. You did get that part right. But it's only imposed on the gain on PROFITS over $250,000 for individuals or $500,000 for married couples. In your example, under the current law or the law in 2013, you would pay ZERO in federal income taxes on that sale if all of the $100,000 was profit. According to the tax foundation, this tax would only hit the top 2% of wage earners in the country. I'm sure George Soros, Donald Trump and Warren Buffet appreciate your concern about their potential real estate deals, but I suspect they can handle it.

Judy, this gives me another opportunity to say that I'm pretty disappointed at the way the numbers are looking thus far. Given everything, this should have been a walk in the park for the GOP. They are really blowing it. I'm terrible at calling races, but what concerns me is that many conservatives I know (the non-religious types) have been saying for awhile that they would vote for Obama than some of these GOP zealots (their words not mine). GOP better hurry up and figure out who they are and pull it together. You are right, it is more real when you put names to it. I don't support this law, but there are millions of people who are denied care every day because they don't have insurance. Recently HCA (largest private hospital chain in the US) stated they were going to begin refusing ER visits from people who did not have bonafide emergencies or they would have to pay before the service. I think after this, it's going to get a lot harder for folks to get care without insurance. We will have spoken quite loudly that the status quo remains, with a stamp of approval by the supreme court. There are many, many people who need healthcare. I hope that this issue isn't forgotten. It's sad to me that as a Christian nation that money is no object when it comes to warfare and defense, but we just can't find it within ourselves to ensure people have access to care. When the bill is struck down, will the GOP pick up healthcare reform?

Judy, you are spot on. Rob is correct about Obamacare being current law. If Justice Kennedy allows this Marxist Power Grab to stand, kiss all you Freedoms good bye. The Catholic Church has been given its orders to comply with Obama's mandate. If the Church refuses to comply, the consequences are fines, imprisonment and closure of Church Operations. This is the reality we face today. By the way Rob, if you sell your house next year 2013, you and everyone else will be required to PAY a 3.5% Sales Tax on the Sale of your House. This means if you sell your house for $100,000, you will pay $3500 to the government. This was PART OF THE OBAMACARE BILL I Know! I Know! Obama still has your vote.

Judy: Thank you for your prayers also. I became a great grandmother in Dec. My grandchildren live out of state and in January I went for a visit. And, of course, I fell in love with my new little "angel." They are hoping to come here to visit this summer when my grandson finishes his tour of duty in the middle-east. And like a trooper, he re-enlisted again for the 4th time. I was praying this time he would say good-bye to the military but it's not going to happen. I can only trust in God to take care of him. God bless.

My Error Corrected: A Good Practicing Catholic Does NOT Vote EVIL in Public Offices!!! I think that this is a basic Common Sense 101. Blessings...

Rob, I tend to agree w/you. I doubt very much that the passage or non-passage of this law will make a difference of who people vote for. Like you, I think they have their minds pretty much made up. It will just make, or not make, their blood boil more. No way will Vance vote Obama. And neither will I. Anyone who offers Wholesale Abortions for a $1 Surcharge is EVIL. A Good Practicing Catholic does vote Evil in Public Offices...PERIOD. Wholesale Abortion means Wholesale Euthanasia follows...Good-bye to Deacon Keith, Me, JoAnn, Grandma's and Grandpa's, and in some cases, Mom's and Dad's. When we can put Real names on the masses of those we speak, it becomes a little clearer, does it not? Yes dear readers, our plate is full. Blessings..

JoAnn, Thank you so very much for the prayers. I have missed you as well. Actually, there was a time I asked about your absence on-line here. I also sent prayers your way. It is unfortunate that we are at a loss to know about what happens to our friends we correspond with here when there is a void. We feel the loss. Anyway, Glad to see you back too! I shall be hit and miss until the middle of April. Then I will be on for a good three weeks before I must go hit and miss again. I hope Normal (whatever that is) will come soon. God Bless you...
